You guys are welcome to your opinion. I own a 991.2 Porsche Turbo S and an M4 GTS. Both cars are simply incredible. The Turbo S, on track, runs away from any GT3 or RS. Period. The GTS is a few ticks back, but it's running in the general same league as the 991.1 GT3. Being $30k-40k cheaper than a .1 GT3, I don't understand why the armchair quarterbacks are so knowledgeable and opinionated about these car, except you've looked a pictures and words about it?? Also, there are some very cool intrinsic things about the M4 GTS that are not valuable to you, but are appreciated by me and other car guys. Bimmer6, you don't want to have a conversation comparing the 458 Spyder to the $100k less expensive Turbo S do you? This is all the same concept.

In Canada:

2016 M4 GTS are going for $160-200K. Lowest i have seen is 160K. The prices have dropped significantly in the USA, but in Canada they are no lower than MSRP.

2016 GT3 are going for $165-220K. Lowest i have seen is 165K

You'd have to have a few screws loose to spend $160K - $200K CAD on an M4...

Randy, if I wanted a Turbo S I clearly could have purchased. I wanted the 458 first it’s the last V8 9k RPM car built by Ferrari, and the engine is a mechanical marvel. I’ve driven th GTS on the tack and the .2 Turbo S outstanding machine. By the way my armchair opinion as you call it was my view it’s not a 100k plus car which the market has spoken that’s a fact. Drove the crap out of my RS and sold it above MSRP. I can have fun driving most sports cars, but when I sell them I don’t take bath on the car so I tend to lean of GT cars from Porsche, and BMWs for daily drivers owned my fair share, but BMW has slapped a M badge on everything thus the value killer. Again my opinion. By the way a good driver in a Miata will leave most of the cars above! It’s not the dollars in a car it’s the driver. By the way a Turbo S is a easy car to drive fast AWD with a lot of nannies great DD. I’m a rear wheel guy and no turbos just what I like that’s all. Not knocking the GTS for what it does, but 130k and tag on fees to own no thx.

By the way no flames, it’s just a car man. I can care less what someone says about my cars. Remember we all can have an opinion. I will drive my 458 all day and twice on Sunday not because of the top end or 0-60 but for the thrill of driving.

I might have been a little testy, but I get frustrated when people who don't own this car bash it and intentionally try to drive down it's value. See, you didn't like it when I brought up the 458 price/performance (which is an amazing car, btw) and that kinda shows my exact point. This forum is mostly guys who plopped down their hard earned cash on the M4 GTS, and it smarts just a bit when non-owners come in and criticize this fantastic car. We don't want it to be any cheaper than it is!!

All good buddy .....honestly no issues with the 458 because I’m a Porsche guy too, and I would never compare the Italian stallion to my P cars just me.

My point was never to critique the performace, but more of BMW has started the mass production game, and LCI this and that it started with the F10 M5 which I also owned. Look at the new M5 which is not on the street yet, and they’re talking about the LCI addition. Which will tank the new model not on the rode for guys who bought early. I feel for you guys that bought the car to enjoy, but it has killed the flippers which over paid. Enjoy your car man it’s all car talk. I learned along time ago don’t buy it if you’re going to get touchy when it drops, and some drop more than others. By the way I only comment I cars I have driven, and considered buying. I’ve gotten to a place where I just don’t like turbo cars, and I’m screwed because they will all be there sooner than later. If I can get the new RS I’m set on NA cars and will just keep them for ever

All good man with me ..........enjoy your cars.

I agree with Randy C54. I also own an M4 GTS, a 991.1 Turbo S, an F12 and a few other cars, including other Mcars I have purchased for the family. In my opinion, the GTS has many special qualities that easily justify the sticker price and more. The prices being mentioned in this forum are steals and I expect will disappear soon. As my other posts have mentioned, most people are not going to purchase a car that cannot serve multiple purposes, thus limiting the market. This car has no rear seat and is a tight ride. When carving through the canyons in my area and driving for driving sake only, it is my car of choice. I love it.

Off to the track this weekend with mine and I know the trip there and back will be as fulfilling as the track time itself.

If anything, a recent addition to the auction block at BaT will certainly serve to gauge the market interest in these vehicles at present

Yes, it will show how many really do not want a purpose built car with limited functionality, and are basing the experience of using the GTS for it's intended purpose on a market value. Talk is cheap though.

Your argument/statement would break-down when you examine the positive reviews of "purpose built car[s] with limited functionality..." from other manufacturers i.e., GT3RS, Speciale, SV, etc...

The talk is a cheap as these cars are becoming, or is it the inverse--is the talk now worth more??

It is likely because there is no inventory. I was in Netherlands last fall and they got two allocations. Not sure how many Canada got but when I used to live in Toronto, it was not bad to get an allocation for a GT3.

Do you find that driving the GTS on the street is no issue at all. Before I bought mine and read the posts on this forum, it seemed to me that other than the track, GTS would be not comfortable. I agree that anyone who has not driven the GTS, should not comment on how bad it is by saying it is very expensive and at the same time try to show that a GT3 can be bought at the same price. I have had a deposit for a GT3 for a year and while it is still there, I got fed up and bought a brand new GTS which I thought I will keep until I get the GT3 but I intend on keeping it. It is amazing on the track with no overheating issues in Florida weather and I see some cars just limping after a 20 minutes session. I cannot imagine anyone who has driven a GTS and can buy one at 100k or less new or almost new will question the value.

The car is absolutely fine on the street! Yeah, it's not exactly cushy, but sometimes I want to feel all of the street feedback, and the burble of the engine and the immediacy of the brakes outweigh a bit of harshness in the suspension. I have other cars I can drive when I need to travel in comfort, so it's a treat for me when I take the GTS for a fun run or just get it out of the garage to stretch it's legs. Pat just bought one a month ago and drove it from Charlotte to Virginia, and while "tight", it was a decent trip. When he got it home, he discovered that the original dealer prep had skipped taking the shipping blocks out of the front tower struts, and apparently this happens a lot with this car. Once removed, now his car rides and handles WAY better, obviously. (The down side is now there are TWO M4 GTS's in my neighborhood. Everybody has 'em!)

We got 50 in Canada. Probably the highest allocation per capita than any other country.

It seems Canadians are more appreciative of the GTS than our US neighbors judging by how they are holding their value and how little are on the market despite the high allocations we got.

There are a few that's been shipped out of Canada. There were 3 canadian spec that was listed for sale in Dubai a while back. Also saw a Canadian spec listed in the states.

I got mine down and off the lift today as we had warmer weather....I've said it a few times, but once you start it up and are inside, the GTS feels special....is a gt3 "better?" Probably in many ways, but I love bmws...I like Porsches (warming up to my techart car now, so having the gts is a treat to me. Would I still like it at at msrp? Yes, but I love it at my purchase price. Do I care that it's dropped a little more since I bought mine? Nope!

I wasn't in complete love with our f80 but my wife was. Should be interesting to see how much of the feel makes its way into her cs.

I had a 458 street for 3 years (still have 458 Challenge) and have a 991.2 Turbo. Had a 991.1 GT3 for about a year as well.

Let the 458 street go when wife bought me the DB11 for my 50th last year. Hands down I miss the 458 and like it better than both the DB11 and the 991.2 Turbo. I like the 488 as well, but will certainly pick up another 458 one day hopefully soon.

That said, both the DB11 and the 991.2 Turbo, obviously, are great daily drivers. Both are GTs and the 458 is a true, high strung sports car. There really is no comparison.

Dare I say I like my DB11 more than the Porsche turbo, but the Porsche turbo is our cabriolet so it gets used a fair amount as well. My DB11 is the 12, but the new V8 is a much better driver than mine due to the 200 pound weight loss up front. You guys should drive one and at least give them a try.

Thanks for the tip ........I told myself I have four parking spaces and the barn is full. Love the 458 and the Porsche Spyder I love it 800 in the US so it’s a keeper. So I have two cars I’m attached to damn(: Will get rid of the M4 can and get the wife a GLE AMG coup ........I will sneak and drive that. By the way I love Aston’s just never bit the bullet. Umm I will be 50 next year so who knows.
