Video: Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Head 2 Head vs M3 Competition, C63, ATS-V

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
For all those who still think the zcp isn't worth the money..... no spoilers.

On this episode of Head 2 Head presented by Tire Rack, Motor Trend Senior Features Editors Jason Cammisa and Jonny Lieberman are in a bind. Before having driven Alfa Romeo's first rear-wheel-drive sports sedan in 30 years, they didn't know what its closest competitor would be. So they brought all of them: a 2016 BMW M3 Competition Package, a 2016 Cadillac ATS-V, and a 2016 Mercedes-AMG C63 S. After looking at hall-of-fame race car driver Randy Pobst's laptimes around Chuckwalla Valley Raceway, they picked the strongest competitor to do battle with the Alfa. Then, the duo hit the road to see which is the best midsize luxury sport sedan.

I've been saying it all along on the various threads here. After owning both a 2016 non ZCP M3 and now a 2017 ZCP car.... The ZCP car is dramatically different in that the car just feels more sophisticated and refined making the vehicle as a whole a much better car.

I think these two guys pretty much agreed.

Worth watching.

I was looking for Alfa before purchasing M3 and it's not as good in the interior as BMW and Merc.

That Alfa is the real deal...not sure about that front end design though...if I was in the market I wouldn't hesitate to do a 3 year lease and have some fun with it.

The Alfa may very well have a slight edge in performance, but I firmly believe the BMW is the better all-around car. From interior design and material quality, to infotainment and build quality, it is superior in all other facets.

The write up in C&D was less than kind to the M3. Same shoot out. Pretty low marks for the steering (expected) and ride quality.

But... But... But... the ZCP isn't worth it, said tons of F8x owners.

Mainly those people haven't owned both versions as I, and several other members, have.

Good video.

I want to like the Alfa. But, it took so long to come to market, it looks like it needs an LCI already! Also, I sat in one at the LA Auto Show and thought the interior needed some help (materials & info IU).

No doubt it has the performance, but just personally I don't like the clover emblem (too hybridy of a feel) and the front end looks.

I'd love to see one in person, the local dealership here just has the ti versions.

Thanks for sharing. Pretty good commentary on all of the cars. Competition is great, it will only keep pushing all of the companies to continue to produce great cars. I'm glad there is a old-but-new-kid-on-the-block to keep pushing BMW.

I was actually thinking the ARGQ was going to walk all over the M3 during Randy's lap time. I'm impressed.

Such a good time to be alive for performance cars! So many choices

The M3 looks and drives the best while the C63 has a nicer interior and better sounding engine, the rest I'm not interested in.

Interior is subjective. I much prefer the sportier BMW style interior vs the more luxury Mercedes. Also as they said BMW just knows how to put things in the right place as far as interior layout.

Has anyone seen a lease on the Alfa? I'm almost sure it's significantly more than the M3.
