Excess wear & Use Protection?

Hello,
Just wanted to hear what the community thinks about this. I would appreciate any feedback both for and against it.
What is acceptable come lease end and what is not. I'm gathering data to make an informed decision to see if it's worth getting. Any lease end horror stories etc?

I personally don't think it is worth it simply due to the fact that I take care of my cars.

Thanks

Details:
2017 M4
39 month lease
65000km allocation

$1404 for the protection - negotiable?

I took that package myself.

I thought the price was alright given that it gives you up to 7,500$ of damage when you return the car. My SA even told me to keep old finished tires and put them back on the car before I return it.

Also, I leased my car and the excessive wear protection removes the security deposit you usually have to give.

Definitely worth it. The windshield alone is like probably $1000. If you get any stone chips or anything, they'll have to replace the windshield.

I just returned my wife's X1 and they had to replace the windshield and fix 1 minor door ding and the total cost was like $1300.

So ya, I think it's worth it.

you do know dealer inflates the cost (or known as dealer pricing) for any repairs that they make, right ?

don't you have windshield coverage with your insurance policy ? There is a deductible but they are usually a few hundreds at for most people.

Exactly what I was thinking. The inspection usually happens a few months before your lease is up. They give you a report and you have time to get it fixed on your own before the lease is up.

All these minor repairs can be done for a fraction of the cost once you remove the dealer markup.

We just bought two BMWs. I didn't take any of that dealer scam bullshit. Totally not worth it. Complete ripoff. Never will understand how people get the dealer to drop the cost of the car then take all this crap that is there only for dealer profits.
