High RPM Sputtering/Misfire

Why would the car sputter and misfire @ a high RPM in 3rd, 4th gear 6200rpm and up w/ the exhaust valve open and not when its closed.

Mods:
JB4 w/ wastegate and fuel mass connected
VRSF downpipes
BMS Intakes
BMS Charge pipes
Remus Race exhaust (unresonated)

Im currently on MAP 2 full 93 pump gas. I tried a mix of 4gal e85 and rest 93 with the same result on MAP 2 and MAP 7. Does anybody have any idea why this would be happening?

How old are your plugs? gap? Has anything changed since this started? Have you tried map 1?

Car corrected itself. I switched to MAP 3 did a few part throttle pulls in 3rd and 4th then switched it back to MAP 2 and that solved the problem.

Plugs are 8k miles old factory gap.

Same, but Dinan Stg3 (also open exhaust, more open intake, but 91oct in CA).

Happened to me on track on two separate days, only in 3rd gear near redline (2nd never exhibited the same problem, no straights long enough for top of 4th).

Haven't checked my plugs yet but I'll be sure to do so as soon as I'm able.

Yea guys, definitely check the plugs...if the gap is too big the spark is getting blown out so you need to make it smaller. Stock gap is .28 i dropped mine to .26. I asked around locally and some people ar running .20-.22 but im not sure if i want to go that low..

What is your setup? Gap depends greatly on setup/power levels.

Do any of you guys currently experiencing misfires have ISTA/D?

If so, I have an experiment for you.

If you have ISTA/D, do a complete vehicle test with identification and allow the test to run. Once the test is done, notate any codes and write them down, then clear all codes. Then go to Service Procedure and go to Powertrain, then DME and then click on adaptations. Follow the procedure to reset all DME adaptations and then close ISTA/D when you're done.

See if this helps your misfires.

Did that the first track day I noticed this on, a couple months back. It did help for a short time but the problem came back after a few laps.

What is your setup? Have you tried a fresh set of gapped-down plugs? Where is the misfire happening? Are you getting an associated CEL/Drivetrain Malfunction?

Haven't tried new plugs and also haven't checked my own; hopefully I'll be able to do so sometime in the near future.

OE intake minus charcoal liner plus drop-in filters, open exhaust (ER+AA+Dinan front-to-back), and Dinan Stage 3.

Misfires at top of 3rd, never occurs at top of 2nd, no straights long enough to see if it also occurs at top of 4th.

No drivetrain malfunction, although IIRC, I did get misfire codes (read with ISTA prior to adaptations reset) for two cylinders.

I don't take RPMs too high in 3rd off-track since I don't live in Mexico.

Any more news on this symptom??? I went to dyno mine today and experienced similar

symptom. It will not run all the way to the Redline. Sputters around 65k

range.
