Tbh, it just looks an an M4 with a new lip, spoiler, and wheels. I was hoping for the rear fenders to be wider, some front end refresh, with majority of the work done with the motor (490 HP would be nice). I'm pretty sure this car will be selling over $100K in the USA. Don't forget about dealership MARKUPS...

I'm surprised they aren't equipped with the BMW/kW coilovers at that price point ... suspension looks way too high but everything is nice (front lip and rear tails)

So what will CS with CCBs, individual red paint, Exec Pack and all the nice other options cost? I'm guessing about $105k USD.

Might be a stupid question, but why is the spoiler not aligned with the trailing edge of the trunk?
To me, it just looks off...

So I'll start off this reply with apologizing for not having read through all 8 pages in this thread...
I read the first 4 and they seem to be repetitive so... Maybe I'm just a contrarian but you know BMW is so full of shyt I can't stand it. If I see another f'ing car that comes out and talks about how exclusive it is to try to sucker me in, sorry not interested. What the heck is wrong with these clowns? Ford, Chevy, Dodge and many other car company's have surpassed BMW and all they can do is just keep turning out the same BS with a few modifications, some new paint, maybe some carbon fiber brakes, little more HP, and some bits here and there...then think that they can sucker us in? Sorry Mate, e9x M3 was the shyt and just about everything else after that as far as I'm concerned has just gone downhill fast. Maybe others will pay thru the nose for these retreads but count me out... |

BMW could have just offered these upgrades as M performance upgrades at their dealerships instead of coming out with another gimmic to buy an M4. I'm sure there are lots of M4 owners who buy the individual upgrades for their cars and BMW would make lots of $ at it

The pricing is rather steep. But depends how we look at the future depreciation. E93 GTS and CRT model held their prices pretty well so original MSRP didnt matter that much.
With this CS, it is hard to tell as it is not a limited run per se. |

Lets hope it not a new trend: make the base model deliberately underwhelming and than charge top $$ for limited run editions which are only as good as the original base model should have been since the beginning.

Price is steep but I love the CS overall. BMW did a good job on this package.
At the end of the day it's nice to have choices; stripper M4, M4, ZCP, CS, GTS, Individual. Pick the car that fits your taste and budget. Hard to complain about having so many options to choose from and price range from $65k up to $135k. My only real complaint is not having this option package on an M3. Call it the Sedan Sport or SS. |

I think you you are on to something here, and I really hope it is not the case. Haven't we seen this in the gaming industry? First they took away all the big boxes and thick manuals from the shelves, then put DRM into the software, then came half assed, incomplete games that original cost $40, now cost on average $100 since you have to pre-order to get the next 3 DLCs that you know nothing about, but need to pay to get the complete experience. WTF!?

Couldn't agree more, very happy with the nice full leather interior and only missing the gorgeous rear lights. Very curious as to whether it will still be possible to order SMB with BMW Individual. "exclusive to M4 CS" may simply indicate that this colour is not available for regular M4 as a part of the metallic paint options. Last edited by Délid'f; 04-19-2017 at 07:38 AM.. |

With production starting in July 2017 (as had been rumored for some time), and going for two years, that actually means that it will end about a year before the last F82 M4 rolls off the line in June 2020. This is probably what they mean by "limited edition". Of course, there will still be a limited number produced over those two years, but I suspect we are talking about thousands per year, nothing like the ~800 units of the GTS available world wide.
I notice the press release does not include the deck lid among the panels that are made from CFRP. I wonder - does this mean that the M4 CS actually has the 4 Series deck lid and not the one used on the standard M4 (which is CFRP)? Or is it simply an erroneous omission from the press release? Edit: Technically, I guess the M4 deck lid is C-SMC, so I suppose that's why it was not named in the list with the others which are true CFRP. |
