We just posted the following dyno plot in another thread and thought
that others may be interested in seeing it as well.

Stock
vs. Stage TWO (w/ AFR) on our own BMW M4 development car.

Mustang AWD-500-SE (4-wheel linked) dynamometer.

listening to Nik on Matt Farah's podcast, he mentioned in passing right at very end you're working on a turbo kit for the F series cars

do you have any more info on this?

We're always working on something cool in the workshop!

Development and testing is an ongoing process as the S55
remains one of our most popular motors. As you already
may know, we worked very closely with CSF to develop
a full line of cooling products. Since then we have been
testing various turbo options but are still just at the point
where we are collecting data.

If we do decide to move forward and supply software for an
existing turbo option, or choose to mode forward with our
own complete turn-key package, I promise that the folks
here on Bimmerpost will hear about it first!

Hi VF,

I bought my tune from Harrison Motorsports on 6/7 and would like to return this product. According to Harrison, I cannot return. Is this something I can return to you and get a refund?

I'm returning mainly because I realized the burbles just isn't for me.

We offer a 30-day (no questions asked) return policy.

Because you made your purchase through one of our
dealers, the return will need to be made through them
as well.

To make things simple, feel free to give us a call at our
Anaheim office first, and then we'll make sure that the
team at Harrison Motorsports is in the loop.

Hi VF ,

This is my 1st post.

I would like to start off by saying hello to Gary and Abe for taking the time to answer my calls.

I purchased your Stage 1 HEX tune and uploaded my files on Friday for my 2018 M4 6MT. I got the confirmation email that you received the files ,and i am waiting to get the modded ones back , i replied to that email asking if there is a way to activate rev-matching in sport+ without any reply yet ?

Can this be done ?

Greetings ,

Just got off the phone with Gary and an hour later got my Stage One files.

Flashed my M4 with no issues and took it for a quick drive.

My M4 is factory ZCP 6MT and WOW , hugeee difference in power delivery and tq with the HEX Stage One tune.

Unfortunately Rev-Match is unavailable in Sport+ but after Gary explained why , i totally understand and its not a deal breaker.

Also noticed on cold start with factory ZCP is a bit louder vs Hex Tune Stage One but again , once you feel the power , you tend to forget the rest.

Also im planning a dyno run very soon and i will post my results.

Thank you Gary and the VF team.

Out of curiousity, what is the reason for no rev match in Sport+, because I know other tuners have done it. Curious to see if it causes problems.

From my understanding is that they prefer not to modify the Sport+ Rev-Match because BMW does not offer it as stock.

Im sure there's a valid reason behind it.

That doesn't sound like a valid reason.

BMW also doesn't offer the levels of boost and power in the tune in stock form either, so not sure what you're talking about here or why you'd think that's a real reason.

No, we are asking what Gary told you. If he told you exactly what you said earlier, thats....well, that's just sad.

This is a copy paste of the email i got in reply to Rev-Match in Sport+.

"We do not offer rev matching in Sport+, and it is not available to add on. We keep all driving functions of the vehicle as stock, but with additional power and torque across the rev range."

Like i said , im all new to this...

Can anyone let me know if there's another reason please.

There is no specific reason from a performance standpoint,
it's just not an option that we offer as (simply stated) we
prefer to retain OEM functionality for the various drive modes.

Sport mode provides the aid of rev-matching, while Sport
Plus
allows the driver the option to be in full control. It's
the most ideal combination for those who are not necessarily
interested in custom options and/or frequent MAP switching.

NOTE: Peak power is the same in ALL drive modes so there
really is no benefit that we can see to offering 2 drive modes
that would be nearly identical to each other.

For those who are intrigued with the idea of limitless options
there are other brands who will happily cater to those requests.

For us it's not about what is technically possible in terms of
customization, it's about what makes the most sense for the
widest range of customers. Tested / Validated / Turn-Key

Hi all , anybody can help me thru this , i just upgraded to stage 2 with catless dp.
Maybe im wrong , but im getting the impression my M4 pulled harder on stage 1 without dp install.

On stage 1 my 3rd gear was amazing and the pull was out of this world , on stage 2 i feel less of pull or maybe because of increased torque the traction control comes on sooner ?

Can anyone help me on this.

Thanks.

If you feel comfortable, and you have the ability to safely
(and legally) test it, try turning off the traction control so
it doesn't intervene and pull power.

The downpipes allow the turbo to spool quicker and more
efficiently. For some people "smoother" just doesn't feel
quite as fast or exhilarating ... even though when you
take a quick peak at the speedometer, you are moving
much quicker in the same gear and at the same RPM.

A HUGE Thank You shout out to all of you who made
HEX Tuning purchases in July. We had another record
month for BMW ECU Software sales and couldn't have
done it without those of you here on BimmerPost!

Some of you will also be receiving an nice surprise as we
randomly threw in some FREE t-shirts from our sample run
of VF Engineering and HEX Tuning apparel.

Let us know what you think and we'll be adding these to
our website very soon!
