Calling all Tanzanite owners with Comp package

I have an M3 Tanzanite with Comp package currently on order.

When the comp package was first released, I thought the 666m wheels were horrific. So much so that I told myself as great as the comp package is I'd consider skipping it just to avoid the wheels.

When the option was given to choose the 437m wheels with the comp package I thought my prayers were answered.

So naturally when I put my build in a couple of weeks ago, without hesitation I chose the comp package with the 437m wheels.

However, the more time I spend looking at pics on the forum, the more and more the 666m wheels have grown on me. So much so that I'm second guessing my decision and considering to change it.

The final part of my confusion is if I do change to the 666m wheels, do I go with the silver or black. I think with tanzanite the silver pops and looks really clean and classy. Yet, the "black" ones which appear to be more of a gray, seem to give the car a slightly more aggressive look and seem to match up better with the comp package details.

I was hoping some of you tanzanite comp owners could share some pics with the wheels you chose and let me know if you would choose the same ones again or not.

I appreciate any pics and feedback.

The black ones are a gunmetal face with black finish in between the spokes, it is a very multidimensional look compared to the silver ones

Glad to know I wasn't the only one who started to really like the competition wheels after initially hating them.

For tanzanite, I would get the silver wheels and then swap out the black trim pieces for chrome (or the dark chrome from IND). The tanzanite is a classy color and is a bit at odds with black accents. I think it would look great with silver competition wheels.

Same here. Hated 666 wheels initially. Later, learned to ignore them.
One day while visiting my dealer, AW ZCP parked next to my AW non-ZCP.
I don't think I ever changed my mind so quickly about wheels.
I should be picking up 18 f80 ZCP this weekend with 666 gunmetal.

Here's a pic from my thread about choosing color. Hopefully the owner, spuntyb won't mind me posting it here.

whenever I have to wash my 666 wheels, I wish I had gotten the 437's. Such a PITA!

Initially, I felt the same way about 666 wheels. My opinion about them changed very quickly once I saw them in person. Just get the 666 wheels. If you dont like them, there are plenty of people willing to trade with money on top.

That's why I feel I really need to see them in person. I don't feel like I can truly appreciate what they look like from just pics on the computer screen.

Naturally we believe our own choices are better than others, but there was no doubt in my mind...437 all the way. IMO the 437's are more aggressive, the impressive rotors and blue calipers more visible, they are quieter and lighter than 666. Shown here with 5mm spacers and some extra rubber (265/295).

What also played a role for me was that I drove f80 with 437s for 2.5 years.
Needed some change.

What's becoming clearly evident is all 3 options look great on the car. I guess I can't go wrong per se with any choice.

Maybe I'll tell my sales associate to just surprise me haha.

Same exact as you, but after I saw them a few times, I went with them.

Tanz with black satan6s, I like it.

That said, personally I'm not thrilled with Tanz. I used to have moonstone and I'm now convinced that's the best color for the M4s (M3 other colors work), but otherwise I think the F8x look much better with a lighter color. (caveat if you're going to PPF the whole car or maybe cquartz or something)

Tanz is good if you want an under-the-radar car but no hyperbole I got almost a compliment a day with my moonstone from any ole person. Now I get about 1 a month and only from people that know it's a CP. It's not about the compliments, it's that the moonstone M4 looked stunning and everybody no matter who agreed. Tanz is invisible.

Same here. No one notices Tanz and it really hides the F8X lines. Looking forward to getting back in something a bit more exciting with the CS.

I disagree, that Tanazite is a great color. Black 666M is the way to go with go with the black CP bits. It's a different color in the sun vs indoor light (which GrussGott posted his F83 ZCP within the Welt). I have included PCD and coastal pic. No regrets, as it contrasts well with a LBB X5M.

All personal opinion below and some fact...

1. The silver wheels pop with the Tanzanite. Love them - but you can't get the 437s in silver with the comp package!
2. The ride is worse with the 666 - here in Chicago, I drove them back to back in the winter and knew that no matter what my car came with, I would have to take the 666 wheels off. The 19s ride much better.
3. I had two choices, Tanzanite with 666 silver wheels and Mineral White with Black 437s... I decided on the Tanzanite with 666 wheels because the snows off my M2 were on silver wheels - then someone bought the Tanzanite before I could make my deal. So now I have MW with the 437s and it looks great! For 6 months of the year Cause then my silver snows go on... so I might have to repaint those.

Long story short the silver looks better (to me) and the 437s ride better (actually, that's a fact!).
