Decided to take a break from BMW while we wait for the future M2 variants. Since I purchased this car, I have moved my deposit from M2CS to M2CSL(GTS). I figure the 2019 launch timing will allow me more time to bond with this car and learn how to drive it. Then add or swap for the next M2. I'm hoping for the former but it's unlikely. This is my first Porsche and dream come true. It is a 2010 C4S coupe w /6MT. One previous owner and 14k miles. She even sits on her original rubber which I will change out this spring. Thinking Michelin Pilot Sport Cups but maybe just Michelin Super Sports. This is a weekend and fair weather driver only. My daily is a GMC Sierra Denali. Great truck BTW! Researching and shopping the Porsche market was very exciting but also difficult. I PPI'd a few other vehicles that came back with a poor report. If you can land a clean one, the 997.2 market is extremely tight. So I'm hoping this car depreciates very little, if at all. I will also say that the Porsche community is super helpful and very welcoming, albeit a little "mature". So I definitely plan to stick around. Feel free to ask me what I learned in my research. Sorry, only a few phone pics so far!

Congrats. Nice P-car! Jealous am I. I'm also digging your garage. Lots of space for that M2.

The other spot is for my wife's X5. Do you think she'd be ok unloading groceries outside in the rain?

I have to park my Wrangler outside for the same reason. Wife's Gran Cherokee occupies the other bay. Where will the M2 go? Best of luck with the 997.

Thank you! We have a barn that I currently store a tractor and firewood in. I'm hoping to clean it out and reconfigure for car storage. But the moisture and rodents might be a problem.

After Mom hit dad's 500E with her Volvo then panicked, pulled forward and hit the garage (causing structural damage) we've investigated all protection options. This one actually isn't bad.

Excellent choice.
I hope one day I will be able to be owner of a 911.

But first I need a GTR for weekend car.

Where I can find these black parking plates that help park the car accurately?

Our garage is quite wide but short from front to back. The tennis balls are for parking position. The black cradles are to prevent winter tire flat-spotting. They are easy to use but not so simple that I would use them on a daily basis in and out. They are called Race Racks and I got them on amazon.

Thank you for your explanation. I have not seen the tennis ball setup. Brilliant idea.

I will adopt it as I have to secure my parking position before touch the wall.

Enjoy your car as I said excellent choice.

Would you still need to do a PPI if you buy it from a Porsche Dealership? Further, how does one go about scheduling a PPI from a private seller? What are you looking for in the PPI to raise flags?

Thanks,
H

Dealers will still miss or hide stuff. I bought a CPO last year and apparently someone broke a strut or something when they serviced the engine and I had problems with one of the brake lights, luckily the local dealer got it covered.
