M3 CS Rumors
A number of media outlets are reporting on the M3 CS, all of which are citing the German trade publication, Bimmer Today.

I wonder why they would spend so much time with R&D for it to only have it be in production for roughly 6 months.

With the limited run, I can't even imagine how much mark up this car will carry at the dealerships.

We might get a hint on the price tag when the ordering guide of M4CS is released.

This is literally the ONLY article/source that mentions anything about an M3 CS. There is no M3 CS in the pipeline according to other sources in this forum and there haven't been any spy shots of any testing going on whatsoever.
I'll take this rumor with a grain of salt. This is no better than the whole FUD about BMW abandoning manual transmissions in the 2 series. All rubbish.

I doubt this is true.
The M4CS will not be available in North America before Q2 2018 and it is very unlikely an M3CS would precede the M4CS at this point, which would make for an extremely short run for an M3CS. Another iffy piece of info is about the OLED tails, there are no "existing" OLED tail light cluster for the F80 chassis (only the F82), it does not seem likely BMW will develop a cluster for such a limited run.

Again ... in german BMW Forums are members who says that they allready have seen an M3 CS in the M facility in Garching! An M3 CS without OLED taillights ... only the standard ones!

Well, one thing for sure... this is the first M3 generation that BMW simply did not bother at all with anything really special -the anniversary edition does not count for crap. This is "M3 CS" looks like a good fix -all the parts are available right now, and can be out with time to spare before EOP.

Bimmertoday.de doesn't give any source for their information about the M3CS being in the pipeline. All other pages refer to bimmertoday, come on guys...

With the M4 CS, there were leaks way before it was ever announced. In fact, there were leaks before it was even seen testing. And that's pretty typical for other BMW models as well. However, in this case no such evidence of an M3 CS exists. That doesn't mean it can't be real, but it does make it a lot less likely. In any case, if the car is real and coming in less than a year, we should have seen plenty of testing activity by now. Yet we haven't. |

And about OLED Taillights, I don't think will geht this feature! I am sure that this car exists (min. 1 example)... the only question is, if it makes its way into production! Last edited by BMW M3 CRT; 07-21-2017 at 08:37 AM.. |
