Came back from the dealership for service just in time before the snow got too bad. Happy do have picked the car at that time because I would have been stuck on highway 13... What a mess that thing... I thought that social media was one of the good things to prevent that sort of f*** up...

Imagine being stuck there for like 6-8hrs and having the M towed but I feel for those that were stuck and especially with kids... major screwup from everyone in all governments! Keeping hundreds of people stranded for almost a day...

I have to admit though, I took my wife's S4 yesterday. The M4 is just too low on the Eibachs for the amount of snow there was on the streets yesterday. I had a ball driving the M4 home from work during the white out on Tuesday night though

Good thing they made Jeep Wranglers! I'm itching to put summers on but maybe next week.

Eibachs or not, even my stock M4 is low for this week's snow... but you confirmed my fears lowering the M makes it less winter driveable

I was under the impression you could not change springs with adaptive suspension.

You can change springs and still retain EDC functionality. However, if you want to switch to a full coilover setup, you'll lose out on EDC functionality unless you go with an option that still retain this but options will be limited and you'll be compromising on other aspects of handling.

bilstein offers a coilover that retains EDC. KW HAS, Dinan HAS and BMW M performance HAS will also retain EDC but these are not true coilovers.

@Ggeezer thanks! Since our last meet and seeing how nice the drop is on avantix M is, I started thinking about it, good to know we can change springs and keep EDC! But I always shy away and never do it ... I try to avoid any trips to any mechanic whatsoever

No problem changing springs with EDC as long as the spring rate remains within the EDC shock damping capabilities. My car is EDC and works great on the Eibachs.

BMW's own M-Performance Height Adjustable Spring (HAS) kit for the M3/4 is intended for EDC equipped cars only.

I'm looking at getting camber plates for the upcoming season. Where does everyone order their car parts from in Montreal? And where to get them installed?

I haven't ordered parts yet ? but I know VAG motorsports (Laval) can order pretty much anything for the F8x and they do installation, though the only thing they installed for me was my winter tires/wheels. CanAutM3 can you please list your source(s) for tires, brakes pads, springs, ...

I order from ECS Tuning most times and pick up my stuff at border mail depot or Freeport forwarding.

Free shipping in the US and sometimes the CBSA person lets you go through without paying tax!

Double win!

Yeah right, you mean you hide or don't declare the stuff but with the US$ and the hassle to take time off, it's probably only worth it for big items!

VAG are pretty good indeed. Very close from my house. Haven't been in a long time, but I recommend them from past experience. Their new garage is very nice compared to their old garage with mud

With all the rain this week, we might have a legit chance of having a meet really soon. Any suggestions for dates in April? Easter weekend if April 14-16. Maybe the week after for out first meet of the season April 22-23, depending on weather.

It's coming. This is payback for the wash winters we keep having.
