Winter is coming

Go figure that after I get my winter setup installed, we get a run of 60-65 degree weather...but it's the only time I had off from work and temps will be in the 40s and below within a week or two.

Anyways...always loved the OEM 437m black wheels so picked up a used set...figure if I'm going to be rocking winter wheels for ~4 months out of the year, I might as well like how they look. Running Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4s at 255/35 square. As you can tell from the pic below...there is obviously some stretch on the rear wheels but not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Rear wheel well also not as beefy obviously...unfortunately Michelin doesn't make the PA4s in 265/35 or 275/35. I know the recommendation is to go skinny in winter, but we don't get a ton of snow and on really hairy days this car won't be seeing deep snow anyways, so I wish I could have preserved some of the aesthetics but oh well.

Looking mint, always a believer in having a winter setup without cosmetic sacrifice.

Agreed!

I have my ZCP wheels for the spring/summer and the 437 for winter, so I'm lucky to use both of my favorite wheel styles.

Anyone know if you could do a square 19x9 setup with the 437's? Then avoid the stretch of the rear and be able to rotate them?

And I thought after season 7 winter was here!

BMW does not recommend this.

Going to do the same with 437s black but will use all weather instead.

Do you know the reason they don't recommend this? I have a square 437 set up (four front 437 wheels). I did not have any issues last winter.

I don't know why they don't. But they must have some good reason for having the wider wheels in the rear with same size tire. I was just providing what BMW recommended.

Their only official winter wheels include the following:

8.5x18 F
9x18 R
Both with 255s

8.5x19 F
9x19 R
Both with 255s.
