Wonder if they could replace them with the new black versions? Anyone ask for those instead?

I asked my SA but he said the black ones have a different part number than the silver ones and he's only able to replace whatever is broken with the same part number so..its a no go. At least for me.

That's strange that my SA would include the seat covers?

I know my car is a first production but it can't be that much different the newer models.

Mine were replaced under warranty two days ago. Just show them that they are cracking. Mine were also making a weird buzzing sound

Are these new black ones made with higher quality materials to prevent cracking? Or will it just be a matter of time like the pre-LCI ones? Are they plastic or metal?

I just heard from BMW Canada and they are not covering the seat light's under warranty so I had to exalte it BMW customer service.

BMW customer service called today to tell me that they are looking into it even though BMW refuse the repair.

Not true. I'm getting mine replaced in a week under warranty. They said right away they would cover mine.

Well it's true for me.

But BMW Canada finally got back to me today stating that they will cover it under warranty but that they have to also replace the seat cover as well so it may not fit correctly because the first gen M4 had different seats then the newer ones, so the leather may fit loosely.

now they want me to decide if I want them to go ahead with the repair.
