I think everyone is missing the point. I also love how everyone is just waiting to drop the most over played line in the book "more important things to worry about"

I worry about several other things that are more important in life than a stupid german car that is made from more plastic than metal.

But this is a car forum you turds and this is where you talk about this crap.

POINT IS: Don't release cars in other parts of the world and then make American's eat sh!t and wait while we watch every other country around us get theirs when the USofA is infact the "target market" and getting nothing.......................................

Make it fair, let everyone all around the world have the same release date.
It's something called "being fair"

also to add.. I blame BMW because the so called "BMW REP's" that represent BMW are giving all their customers wrong information... it's a joke. Give me one answer than a lot of different answers every week. If it's June 21st then so be it, but don't tell me my car is on a truck arriving tomorrow, then when tomorrow comes, they tell me it's still at the port.

In the scheme of things, think about how insignificant 18 days is. I remember when my X5 was finally ready, the dealer held all X5s pending some recall for an airbag module. That took a week, then I was out of town for another week. My patience ran thin, but I look back, and don't think my ownership experience would be better or worse had I picked it up earlier. Just a thought.

The rest of the world that pays way more for the car would like you to gain some perspective. It's dirt cheap, so wait for it.

BINGO! If I were BMW, I would fill every last order for those countries FIRST, and THEN start making the American cars. Then you could talk about playing dirty.

That sort of sounded like my 8 year old whining about not getting his tricks scooter before his birthday.

Well I'm not getting delivery until September 17th, then the 8 weeks wait after 2 weeks terrorizing the Autobahn. I will be on a ship cruising Hawaii when my vehicle get to my dealer.

Take a deep breath everyone. I know we are like kids in a candy store. It will be June 21st before you know it.

BMW should have been more upfront about the release. Just tell everyone its the 21st already. Whats the big deal? Communicate with your customers. We are obvious loyal "anoraks"! (stole the term from "Car" magazine.

My m4 isn't built yet even though I was #1 at my dealer with a deposit (didn't get the dealer car though) . My car was ordered the day it was technically possible to order it with BMW AG. So I don't mind at all that BMW is making everyone wait till June 21 bc it really isn't fair how allocations/builds have been given out to begin with. (Not really complaining though cuz that's life)

I do think OP has a point in that BMW said there would be a worldwide simultaneous release. But clearly either by design or accident some have gotten there cars before the official release date. Other than that i don't have a problem at all with the june 21 release.

Do you give kids all their Christmas presents before Christmas? You have to think big picture, and a few fan boys, like you and me, really shouldn't or can't shape that picture. A hundred or so M3/4s rolling out together on launch day will be cool.

Especially the Christmas comparison... everybody knew that the release date is 6/21 so nobody should expect the cars to be around any sooner.
To me this is such a negative way of seeing it. I'm expecting to take delivery no earlier than the launch date (on any car) and if I suddenly get it sooner I'm happy about it.
Maybe BMW should just stop the possibility for tracking the car - would that help? If you don't know where it sits you cannot be mad about the car not being at your driveway just yet!
I think that would make it easier for some people not being able to track it. They don't realize that in itself is a luxury as well. Countries in Europe don't even have the luxury of calling a 1800 number to track the delivery of their cars. Only us entitled Americans. Being that I've ordered both my US spec bmws while living abroad I have not been able to track either through entire build process. It's honestly easier that way.

I must have missed that announcement. If it is so, why is there so much confusion between the phone center at BMWNA and nearly every SA in the US. They need to be all on the same page.

Cancelling now After this Long Waiting Time is as intelligent as walking from Paris to moscow and 6miles before moscow u say: the Way is too Long for me i go back!:-)
So in this Case Porsche is the best Choice for u!
In Germany the Porsche Cult is Nearly over Since Porsche is now Part of VW.
And i will Never Pay Even +50000 EUR for a f*cking VW.

Do you guys have any clue how incredibly complex a new model launch is? There are tens of thousands of people working around the clock all over the world right now to get your M3 to you on time. No launch goes perfectly smoothly, every new car or new assembly line has issues at launch, and BMW has processes in place to make sure that these issues don't get to the customer.

Every single BMW customer pays $40-140k for their car, so buying an $80k one does not make you special. BMW will follow their procedures, and everyone will get their cars exactly when planned.

Tough situation.

If you don't have money down on the car it is easy to agree that this is just someone being whiny,

but if you have money down, I can easily see the frustration.

Ultimately, the car should be released. People have seen them, there's video footage, review content, it's not like it's a prototype anymore. This is just a corporation being a corporation- meaning; they don't care about the people, only the bottom line. One of the problems with today, but at the same time, that is the reason why the M3/4 is such a great car for such a great price.
