I am running the Michelin PA4s 255 square as well.
My tire source actually told me if you run anything narrower than 255, you will hate it and come back to pick up the 255s minimum! In the six, you will see more cleaned-up roads than thick snow, unless you're the unfortunate one that have to hit the road before any clean-up work can be started. FYI, I live north of Newmarket, and 255s square is doing great! |

Anyone have pictures of the 255/35/19's on the rears of the 437's? Trying to see how bad the stretch is since they are easier to find than the 275's.
I hate stretch. |

I’m running Breyton GTS-R’s (19s - had to be modified to clear front calipers), with XI3’s in 245/40/19.
Very happy with the setup. Tires have been amazing - a little soft and way easier to turn in, but stable and great for the snow. Some pics! |

I am so far very happy with my Sottozero's in 255/40/18. For $2K with rims I am happy with dry and rain performance and in light snow it was fine (not scary to drive in). Haven't had a real massive snowstorm yet though either.

And I could hav run some spacers for the rear FYI. I didn't bother with an aggressive stance during the winter so I just kept the rims non staggered and ran no spacers in the rear. |

I would also tend to agree but also to support the original point there are really only a few days where the snow in and around toronto isn't passable by most vehicles with half decent snow tires. the vast, vast majority of winter driving in this city occurs on wet and dry roads in near and sub zero temperatures. that's why for drivers of any performance vehicle should opt for sportier winters when possible. those few really bad days you stay in until the roads are plowed or plan accordingly around it because 95%+ of the time you'll still be able to drive your car pretty hard. i'm not against equipping a performance car with proper snow/ice tires--it's definitely the safer way to go and there is some piece of mind going that route. i just believe the price one pays to do that, 95%+ wet dry driving boring and "slushy" due to softer/chunkier winters, is too high

Hakka 9's studded were by far the best investment in ice/snow tire, except when we had the warm dry spell in nov/dec....
Loving the handling and confidence in the icey situations we've been having lately. They are expensive but surely a great premium investment. |

what do you guys think of running Sottozero Winter 240 serie II 285/40/19 rears and 235/40/19 fronts on stock 19s.
either that or Pilot Alpin in (285/40/19 - 255/45/19) or (265/40/19 - 235/40/19) Those are the used ones I can find on craigslist right now with decent tread. I live in vancouver btw so mostly just wet driving, though I also go to whistler on the weekends which has snow sometimes. |

I'm just on PS4S right now. :P All it's been is wet and not that cold so I personally haven't felt a need to switch because it's going to just get warmer from now here in Van. Then again I have a 328 xdrive with xice in the event there "may be the greatest storm to hit Vancouver" which has kind of gone away in the forecasts.

Needless to say when I googled the damn thing I forked it over.... |
