Braman BMW Disappointment + Thoughts on new M3/M4

Went to Braman BMW to check out the new F80/F82. They had a MW F80 and a AY M4 in the showroom.

Cars looked great. Was able to sit down and play around them a bit, interior looks very much improved, I`m 6'3 and the seats felt very good. Was able to turn the M3 on and surprisingly it had a very gargling aggressive tone while warming up. Overall, M3 really takes it for me. The rear arches look very aggressive compared to the M4. The M4 looks great but too similar to the current 435i in my opinion. The CF roof on the M3 also looks incredibly in person.

About Braman BMW, very disappointed.

1. M3 has a $25,000 Mark Up
2. No test drives

How is one supposed to buy a car for a $25,000 mark up and cant even test drive it? Aren't DEMO/Launch Cars there precisely so potential new buyers can go and test drive them?

It was either loosing $25,000 over 2-3 months or order one and wait. So I left and drove myself to Lauderdale BMW in Pines and ordered one and will be here in August/September.

If you havent done so, make sure to check the car in person. Pictures dont do them justice.

That's a 30% mark up. They`ll have that car sitting on that lot for weeks.

Interesting that Pines BMW can get you a car by Aug/Sept.

I have had one on order from them since late last year with a May allocation and it still hasn't been built. Should be here around the end of August with a scheduled production date of week 28.

I did get to test drive their BSM M3 on Monday and I am still grining like an idiot

Best of luck getting one, I agree that above MSRP is ridiculous for a non-limited production model; it's definitely worth the wait though...

I tried to order from Braman and asked them to honor the 1k test drive promotion from BMW as it would not be delivered in time and they would not budge from MSRP. That is their prerogative and mine was to leave and order from Coggin BMW.

Did Pines give a good deal? I am going for a test drive this weekend. I saw the car on Sunday but had my kids with me.

That's absolute insanity. Most places in NJ are going for sticker or giving a 500-1K discount off msrp for a 36mnth lease!

I purchased mine at Pines and got $700 off msrp. Mine is currently waiting to get on a boat. South Motors wanted $5k over msrp that's why I went to Pines.

Vista BMW in Coconut Creek got two cars and marked them up 20K + some other random fees and sold both cars within 5 days.

Yes, speak to Ramon Trull, tell him you were referred by Charlie.

Congrats! What did you end up getting?

Do you have any evidence these cars sold at +$20k over MSRP? I`m sure the final price was probably closer to +$5k. Braman was willing to negotiate the $25k down to $10k which still in my opinion is a terrible investment.

eh.. not necessarily. keep in mind we are always pushing the dealers for invoice or invoice + deals on the majority of cars. every once in a while they get a car like this they can sell for msrp +. and thats the beauty of a free economy. you dont like it, go buy elsewhere. there are tons of dealers in south florida that you can shop. and keep in mind south florida is very different than the majority of the country. you have many wealthy (very) people that dont give a shit about $20K. they'll pay whatever just to drive it. thats who will buy it, an impulse buy for some rich guy. more power to the both of them

Yup, they only get to do this the first few months after launch. More power to them trying to make some money, after all they are a business. For the following 6 years dealers have to sell cars invoice plus. I choose not to pay msrp or over, so I will wait. No big deal.

Braman is a joke period. I went in there a month ago with the intention of buying a M5, they had a 3-4 cars sitting in their inventory for quite sometime. Mind you I bought my M3 from them and was very willing to give them additional business due to my previous positive experience. Anyways, I go in there armed with all the info...residuals, money factors, comparable monthly payments...the salesman immediately gets threatened by the fact he's not dealing with your typical ill informed buyer. I tell him I'm willing to spend $1100-1200/mo lease, max MSDs (117k msrp car)...he could have gotten a little more $$$ out of me to be honest but we didn't even get to that point, he didn't even want to start a honest negotiation. He says to me I'm looking for the wrong car, that I should be looking at a 550i with those monthly payments. I respectfully disagree with his opinion and he goes on to tell me how Braman is in the business of making a profit ect...seeing that this guy isn't remotely interested in entertaining a potential sale, I thank him for his time, and his parting words are to come back when I'm "serious about buying an m5". Anyways, take what you want from my experience but I can tell you I will never buy another car from them again, and I will actively discourage others as well.

My buddy was there today getting his e92 serviced and snapped a photo of the 25k mark up in question.
