cheap is a relative term ;-) I may consider it for the next summer tire set. BTW, in your post the item number 6855539 on the eBay page shows not compatible with the M4, but upon further search, ETK shows part nb 36106856209, which if you look up the picture has the same markings as the one from eBay.
When I looked into it some time ago, I read that the RDC is integrated in the DSC unit and there is no need for additional hardware but wasnt sure. For those who are curious, Option 2VB yields the following CAFD changes: Quote:

Im sure that 6855539 will work on your M4, it will work on 234,x5,x6 Receiver is intergrated in DSC for car built after 2014/04. 150 USD i think is totally worth it. FTM sucks, i have heard numerous people say it failed to notify when tire is already flat. |

And you're right, its worth the money, because for people that track their F8x, the temperature reading is equally important too. BTW, did you ever compare the pressure readout with an external good gauge ? |

Yeah , i have that too, but my token expired and TM gone missing. I did mounting in costco, 15 each tire, if you were changing tires there, its gonna be for free. I didnt test the accuracy of the readings, but they looked okay, readings are very similar. |

This is great info. I actually bought the sensors to use with my Canadian car, but returned them when dealer said they would not work. I really have to figure how to code!

Ok one year later, we have small movement on this issue, one more visit to the dealer and with the PUMA case, BMW may ask to replace the DSC module... stealth70mde , my SA said if BMW proceeds this way, they'll change it for you too as I mentioned I had a friend with similar symptoms. And apparently when the alarm is yellow and all four tires are identified, it means a fault with the system!!!

Apart from the DSC module, there's the sensors and the cables! I can be the Guinea pig and report once the work is done. But now I know that if we don't get an arrow pointing to the tire, and if all are yellow, then it's a system fault but the stupid message doesn't say that!

According to the SA, this is a new PUMA case in the database and no other reported similar issues. They also asked zillion questions... |

Ok, finally BMW decided to replace the DSC unit for my PUMA case, not sure if the control unit and the hydraulics or just the former. Parts to arrive in few weeks.

Ok had the work done today to replace both the DSC control and hydraulic unit under warranty, one year later and 9 total false FTM alarms... I somewhat still think it's the software or the wheel speed sensors so we shall see. The work was carried out flawlessly. But the brake pedal feels a bit softer... they bleed the brake system after the work.
As usual, they had to update the car's software and for some weird reason they reflash all the darn modules even if there was no update for most of them. So third time i have to recode my configuration changes and this time I think I am going to script it ... If any of you have this issue, there is now a PUMA case for this. |

Hopefully it fixes the issue. You may want to hold off on the coding for a bit just to rule it out. It's probably not related however it makes sense to let the dealer fix soak for a bit before adding any additional variables into the mix.

The only coding I always suspected was EuroMDM but other members that dont have it get that alarm. Even my GTS DCT flash is gone, so i'll redo all of it one day...
