I would certainly be happy to roll race anyone with a different tune for comparison.
simple, get a vbox time for acceleration
that doesn't lie and better than any dyno..
No offense but you recommend I buy a vbox, post a log, and either hear you say, that proves my point or wow ethanol tunes are faster than pump gas

I realize this may come shocking to some, but I didn't buy my M car to go fast in a straight line, many cars do that better and cheaper. I bought it because it's unique and has character. The few mods I installed plus the tune make the car my own. I credit anyone who posts logs, time slips, etc, but always trying to be faster than the next guy is a game that's rarely won.

I'm happy to run anyone, even record the race, but I'm not interested in buying extra equipment to prove something.

Cheers

That same tune (E85 w/bolt ons) produced an 11.01 @ 127mph,
where our Stage ONE (93 all stock), which presumably makes
-75hp & -65tq ran an 11.00 @ 126mph. Trap speeds are a better
indicator of performance than a dyno power run through a single
gear.

You can reference less boost/more timing, which theoretically
makes sense, but it’s looking like boost taper is negatively
affecting power delivery through multiple gears.

I don't believe this is "that same tune" because this is a custom e85 tune, not an OTS e85 tune.

Exactly, also funny that #LOLVF is only mentioning their Stage1 93 octane tune but seems its pushed aggressively like a Stage2 haha.. Because why there's no Stage2 records flowing

Thats right Bootmod3 STG2 93oct has the 10.9 record!

Both threads referenced the “Cary Jordan Full E85” Tune.
If they were indeed different, that’s simply to clarify.

And I’m sure our Stage TWO numbers will make a showing
soon enough. An extra 30-40+ HP/TQ and a pair of 305’s
will surely make a difference.

We’re only talking eight-hundredths of a second after all!

You really mean a 1/4 mile is a good comparison of power? Tires/track conditions/launch mode/manual/DCT/stripped car or not......the list of variables is endless and can probably make a second difference at the extremes?!

60-130 is the comparison with the least variables I can think of.

this is a true gauge of how fast a car is..
no one said you must buy a vbox you telling me none of your mates have 1?

I don't know anyone off hand, I'll keep my eyes open. I'm curious on the numbers but not in a rush to prove. Plus it's winter out by me.

To be specific, we said that "Trap speeds are a better indicator
of performance than a dyno pull through a single gear"
.

The dyno is a tool for testing and measuring change, and the
less data you collect while the car is on the machine, the less
of a service you are actually providing.

The fact of the matter is that any single performance result will
be equally scrutinized by those who don't want to believe that
more power doesn't always produce quicker/faster time/speed;
because the root of the problem is that people put far too much
emphasis on peak power numbers.

It's essentially the same as bragging about how quickly you can
run the mile, and then multiplying that by 26.2 to come up with
your marathon time.

So much butthurt in here! What are we discussing? If two identical cars in this case same transmission and motor will perform the same on a 1/4 mile run given one makes significantly more power than another? Answer: it depends on so many things and none of that has to do with if one car is stronger than the other. Given both cars prepped same and run SAME day SAME track and driven by the same driver the stronger of the two will always win. Anything else anyone talks about is pure bs, zero sense. Comparing different cars in different ambients on different tracks makes as much sense as comparing different dynos and looking at just a peak dyno number.
