After a year of ownership just realized that the LIT "M" on our seat backs, had a clear protection tape that was never removed and never noticed until today.

pardon my statement...the 37 degrees warning is for when conditions for black ice..

per that book that comes with your car...the manual I think it's called..

Outside temperature warning
When the displayed temperature sinks to
approx. +37F/+3C, a signal sounds and a
warning lamp lights up. There is an increased
risk of black ice.
Black ice can also form at temperatures
above +37F/+3C. You should therefore
drive carefully on bridges and shaded
roads, for example, otherwise there is an
increased risk of an accident

Sooooo 37 degree warning is completely arbitrary? Where did they come up with that? I guess they had to pick some number.
Maybe that book...the manual I think it's called??? Should read..." Drive carefully all the time...you could be killed at any temperature but we think 37 is extra scary for some reason."

Water freezes at 32 degrees but black ice can form when the air temp is above 32 because the ground can be colder.

Come on guys/gals.

It's because overpasses and such can freeze, if there's a breeze, the temp can drop below/over/around an overpass which can cause freezing.

Even if it's above 32f.

Just a guess but perhaps anything more than 5 degrees over 32 is high enough to reduce concern the ground is below 32.

As others have said, it warns at 37 because black ice can form on roads even when the ambient temperature is several degrees above freezing.

I learned that the traction is improving now that it's not raining every day and the humidity is lower. Makes a big difference! You guys out west where it's dry probably have less traction issues than those of us in the swamp.

I noticed that, I was a little afraid to rely on it for some reason assuming that was what that was

According to my delivery expert at the Welt the maps will automatically update over the air for free. Also, the 2016 with the enhanced phone option have an LTE connection so it is very fast to update.

The GTS stuck right off the line whereas I had a bit of wheel spin. I likely need to upgrade the driver next go around.
