BMW Individual M3 Color Visualiser

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Fed up with mineral white so want to sell and get something individual. I found trying to choose a color and visualize how it would look pretty hard then I came across this. Thought it was cool. Didn't see it posted before and search didn't bring anything up

Not a full list, and NOT at all true representations of the colors, but it is nice to see a lot of the choices, and correct paint codes! Very nice.

It labels Laguna Seca Blue as metallic, which I presume is a misprint.

I have an LSB and after I ordered it last year, I found a bmw page that listed all of the BMW colors and it too listed Laguna Seca Blue as metallic and I started freaking out that I ordered the wrong color. I hadn't seen the color in years, so I started thinking I must have gotten it confused with another color I had once seen. Luckily peeps on this forum who also had LSB were able to say definitively it was not and I was able to sleep at night again....hahaha

Once you see the amazing LSB color in person it becomes obvious that there are zero metallic flakes in the paint. Definitely a misprint!

This is a cool idea, but the colors are not even close to what they look like in real life.

Here is Avus blue they show in the tool and here it is in real life. For some reason everything is darker and muted in the tool.

Check San Marino Blue in the tool too, way off.

You are better searching the internet for various photos to get a good idea if you can't find a real life example.

I would not use that tool to make such an expensive decision.

I think the colors in this tool are carefully balanced to be depicted in neutral light under controllable photograph exposure. There is also the problem of each computer and phone panel displaying colors slightly differently. If you were to adjust the lighting I think the examples shown in this tool are pretty spot on.

There is some fade shown in different angles that give you an idea of what the color looks in the dark. The Fire Red example does it best.

Nah, that's an old school thought. Monitors and phones today are very close, its not like 10 years ago. If I had used that tool I would have never bought Avus. My pic is in neutral daylight, not a sunny day and it is so much brighter than the configurator.
You can get an idea with it, but don't use it to make a decision.

This is a neat tool, but really doesn't give an idea of what a color looks like. Neither do photos.

It would be nice if someone would post a list of Individual colors with Pantone colors: https://www.amazon.com/PANTONE-FORMU.../dp/B01BDNYMNI
