no big deal if you're racing the car, but the ocd part of me hates it.
I keep finding pieces we're missing as we put the car together. I'm still missing a plastic piece that goes inside the fender that holds the bumper in place. I should pick it up on Wed. or Thurs. along with some other final pieces.

We got the rear wheels just in time to roll out on Friday AM. Our rear fitment: Apex Race Part EC-7's 18x11 et44 with a 300x18 racing slick.

We ran config. 1 (the long CW config.) and the very first session the car went out, Ralph broke 2 min. and was P3 in the TT run group and did a 1:58.5 the second session before the weather got hot

We ran the car across the scales as is and with sunroof, doors nut gutted windows, OEM exhaust and 5/8 of a tank of gas and the car was at 3300 lbs.

Wow that's really fast... I hear that 1CW is about 4-5 sec slower than 13CW so very impressive. Very interested to see what the car will run on the 13CW configuration

At the track changing brake pads and pulling dust shield, it was easier to just remove the parking brake along with the rear dust shields

So after all the brake work on Friday night in the paddock at Buttonwillow, we felt like we were ready for a great weekend

Yeah, for a car with OEM shocks, street springs, all the glass and no aero or engine/exhaust mods, it opened some eyes in the paddock. And P4-P6 were essentially Corvette race cars.

Here's a video of it going past Start/Finish on it's first track day

Enough of the still photos. Let's get to what this car is supposed to be about - on the track. Want to let you guys know that aside from the fact that we didn't front brake cooling, the cooling capacity for the rest of the car is awesome. Looks like BMW designed this car thinking somebody may actually take one on the track. In the heat of Buttonwillow in June, the car never went into limp or 'dial it back' mode. Here it is on the front straight at over 100 mph.

We were just there to shake down the car and not mess up anybody's points. We made sure to not finish ahead of the #64 car when it counted.

We also had a 2nd driver already driving in HPDE 3/4, so Ralph ran with the TT group.

So, believe it or not, we've done the easy part. Now to turn it into a real race car. I already have the removal of the front and rear glass scheduled.

Depends on what class we try to keep the car if running on R-comp tires. If we stay on OEM calipers and no aero, we can be in G-Sport and we're thinking of trying to get through the remainder of this year like that and then moving the car up to G-Prepard (caliper upgrades and aero) for next season during the winter.

Is this strictly a time trial effort or is the care slated for some w2w action?

It was just a shakedown so we could learn something about the car and find anything wrong before it goes to the cage shop - so it's going to be a full on race car.
