I've owned a 2005 STi and a 2011 M3, I understand the value of an M4 over an STI. But to tell me an Akra exhaust is worth more than a whole big turbo upgrade package for an STI, sheeeeeeeiiiiit.

is it fair to ask what the functional purpose of the carbon fiber attachments are on the exhaust tips?

But I disagree, must be a euro thing...and no homo but I too prefer circumcised exhaust tips. I have no idea who started this shitty fancy fad but it is universally known that foreskin attracts dirt, grime and that it looks less masculine. All things that these exhaust covers add, attract dirt and grime and looks less masculine.
Look at the back of a Corvette, four manly ass cannons.

Wish they made a traditional option available as well.
