The m4's are becoming quite pricey in Canada. $120-130K is steep, the gts can be had for 160-175K now and will probable dip a little lower for the short term.
I will keep my M4 and with the mods it probably isn't any worse than the new CS,I have also gone a different direction for another overpriced purchase, the Dodge Demon. optioned nicely $118K plus tax. Absolutely crazy but I have to give it a try. |

Yes, can not argue with that. Its progress, and Its jolly god we have It.(that 991.2 GTS)
But In the end Its not about that magazine, It what them( we) owners do on track. I got a few friends driving them 991.2 GTS cars and they are not faster than me In M4 GTS, still they are In superior cars right (Also they are on CUP2 tires on their 991.2 GTS) Last edited by Captain Unknown GT4; 09-18-2017 at 04:26 PM.. |

Why don't they compare the M4 CS to... a decently equipped 718S Cayman or, at most, a completely stripped base 911?
Ah yes it's because the CS is 'sporty' so it has to be compared to the 'sporty' 911! Total bullsh!t! Same as the GTS being compared to the GT3 RS. In reality, it should be compared to a GTS or maybe a base GT3. Never a GT3 RS that goes for 300-400k |

The M3 has traditionally always been compared to the 911. Which was quite flattering considering that the M3 could almost match the 911 performance while being a little less expensive and way more practical. I guess this is why reviewers keep comparing the M4 variants to 911 variants. The 911 seems to have moved significantly up-market in terms of performance and price (in Canada, a bare bone base 911 starts at $104k, which is the price of a rather loaded M4) . It is therefore more appropriate to compare the M4 with the Cayman, which now seems to be more in the M4's price and performance category. But it is still interesting to see how an M4 stacks up against the venerable 911
