http://www.vboxmotorsport.com/index....ers/vbox-sport

was around 40-60 feet above sea level with 50-70% humidity
Let the naysayers do their thing. Thanks for the data!

10-20 foot downward slope depending on the run. check previous post though i tested in both directions and achieved very similar results.

I picked up my SSII / SO M4 last week and still have my full bolt on e92 M3. Did a bunch of testing on the same flat road on pump gas from the same station and here were the best runs from both cars. Weather was around 75 degrees and I'm at sea level. For reference, my e92 dynoed at 396 whp and M4s on the same dyno are getting around 420. So the results make sense

M4 0-60: 4.35
M4 60-130: 9.38
M4 1/4 Mile: 11.82 @ 122.3

M3 0-60: 4.23
M3 60-130: 10.13
M3 1/4 Mile: 11.95 @ 120.5

M4 is making serious power stock.

M3:

M4:

In terms of which car I like better...they are different beasts. Wouldn't really say the M4 is better than the M3, however its easier to drive and handles/brakes better. Still getting used to the engine though. Obviously the NA sounds better though...although the M4 doesnt sound bad whatsoever.
What was the percent slope of the runs ?

What was the m3 0-100?

And no one is calling you a liar, just expressing surprise at how quick both cars performed. The delta between the two seems appropriate IMO. The lack of traction the m4 suffers from (evidenced from slower 0-60) indicates it's even faster than the traps would indicate when run from a roll. I would guess the 0-100 differnce is close to .75-1 second.

oh on the m3, sorry. thought you guys meant the m4.

i had the app set up weird at first with what it was logging. so i didnt have a 0-100 mph. but i had a 0-200 meter that trapped 7.79 seconds at 95.5 mph. so thats almost 100mph

0-95.5 mph @ 7.79 on the M3. I estimate this would be a 0-100 of 8 flat

vs.

0-100 mph @ 8.58 on the M4

So it seems like what is happening is because of the poor launch and traction problems all the way up to 3rd gear in the m4, the m3 actually has an edge. but once the m4 finally grips it just pulls away

Actually he didn't . % slope is the elevation change over the length if the run . It's very important in comparing data . The VBox sport app shows the starting and ending elevation of a run as well as the length so all he has to do is show the screenshot .

Why's everyone so surprised? Didn't BMW advertise a 3.9 second 0-62 with the DCT? If anything, his numbers are a bit low...

M5/6 guys said the same thing at about the same point in the development process.

Sorry, don't meant to be rude... But 11.8 and 10.9 are two VERY different things.

I know what % slope is, but you are right - I apologize. He did not state % slope. He just said it was a 10 -20 foot drop over the run. I just assumed that would provide %, given distance was a quarter mile. But that was an assumption. Sorry.

I agree. Plus that is going to be a very expensive second (that will mainly be for bragging rights).

I would prefer he show the data so we don't estimate , but if it was 20 feet then it would be a -1.6% slope which would explain the fast ET despite a bad launch as well as the higher than expected trap . For a Vbox quarter mile to be valid it has to be less than 1% slope , and preferably be close to 0. In the same conditions on a NHRA track his car would prob be 12- 12.2 @ 119 -20 mph so consistent with previous fastest DCT data .
