Alpina B4 S vs M4
Well the video isn't directly comparing it to an M4 but I was pretty shocked by the numbers...
440 BHP and 500 lbs-feet of torque? wouldn't that make it faster than an M4 launching from 0-60? why is this such an understated car or no one talks about it? That's insane BHP and torque when you consider that it's using the N55 engine rather than the S55

It's essentially a modified tuner car being compared to a stock manufacturer car.
The pricing seems to be relatively close to base M4 pricing. I would just go with an M4. If you want more power, there is plenty of room to improve it. With an Alpina, if you modify it further, it becomes just another modded 4 series - so it loses it's value and purpose.

Alpina are classed as a manufacturer so no not the same as a modded car, but they are very expensive as (in the UK anyway) there are no discounts so once you've added the bits needed to match the standard M4 spec, that B4S is over £10,000 more expensive once you factor in the discount on the BMW.
Lots of love for them over here (as shown on that UK based video) but very few sales so people clearly don't put their monthly payment where their mouth is. A few details on the engine they change quite a lot it's not just a boosted N55: "The host unit is BMW’s N55 motor but with its block recast to accept Alpina’s twin-turbo application. It has a forged steel crank, 10% bigger turbos, 20% more cooling capacity for the water and 35% more capacity for the oil. And again, the sound of the motor is spat out through Akrapovič exhausts."

100 kg more weight + those old fashion rims + less aggressive bumper + no CF roof + regular steering wheel like 4 series + no MT option+ ...
Not my cup of tea....
