Track tire width ?
I'm debating between 2 tire sizes for my front wheels and wanted to get the groups thoughts. The wheel is 10" and I'm debating between a 265 re-71 and a 275 re-71. The 265 has a 9.6" tread width and the 275 has a 10" tread width. My thoughts are the smaller tire may set up faster since the side wall will be preloaded more. On the other hand I'll be giving up some contact patch but I'm not sure which scenario is going to be optimal. I don't auto cross, I stick to hpde's and such. Any insight is much appreciated!

You want to go as wide as you can fit in front. The F8X remains a front weight biased vehicle, those front tires have to work very hard.

Understood. I'm thinking the smaller tire may be better in an auto cross situation where you are rapidly changing directions and having the sidewall preloaded would result in more stability. I mainly track at VIR and many of those turns are fairly high velocity where you have a little time to set the tires. Ill probably go with the 275 but was curious if anyone had any revelations
