1:55.510 shows a Honda S2000? I don't see a 2017 M3 listed?

Signed up with S2000, ran 1st session with it, then moved the transponder over to the M3, as I ran with S2000 rest of the day with my transponder.

Except for Red1 times done with S2000, other sessions are with the F80.
(brother bought 2 run groups so he can run both S2000 and F80, and i bought 1 run group to run with S2000)

How do you like the NT01s? I'm considering these as a replacement for my Sport Cup 2s for next spring (also a move to track dedicated 18 wheels squared) as I've heard good things but never ran them myself. I've heard the grip is similar but that they last/wear much better and of course are cheaper. Also considering the RE71s.

1:02.39, Dvas99, 6MT (Michelin SC2, Bilstein B16 PSS10, GC CPs, PFC08)

Last track day of the year, with SCDA at LimeRock. Nice not to have a student once in a while. Very cold day with a high of only 32 degrees. Took 5-6 laps to get any heat in the tires but the grip came in ok after that. I left a bit on the table just in case, especially on the uphill. Ran two sessions before my front outer edges corded again and I had to call it a day. I need to find a solution to my tire killing issues.

I know your question wasn't directed towards myself but I run the NT01 and I can't say enough good things about them. I'm extremely hard on tires and brakes (my driving style) and even if I get the NT01's hot from sliding they will come back down quickly but most importantly they are consistent. Get your tire pressure dialed in (the biggest difference with these tires) and you'll be amazed, I was. Here's a video from 2 weeks ago of me running at Autoclub and I'm trying everything possible to hang with the GTR and Z06:

Thanks for the input, appreciated. I've heard and read really positive things about the NT01s but haven't come across a direct comparison to y old SC2s or the RE71s.

Are you running a stock setup with the NT01s, or have you made track specific upgrades, e.g. track wheels, coilovers, camber plates?

I couldn't keep the sport cup 2s from tearing the outside edges off within a handful of days on track even with coilovers and 2.7 neg camber. Looking to either the NT01 or RE71 (plus going to dial in a little extra caember) for similar grip to the SC2s but with better life. Possibly also considering scrubs at this point.

Yes I'm running a TC Kline suspension w/camber plates, Dinan rear suspension links, sway bars, strut ball joint kit and a pretty aggressive alignment, Apex 18" rims and complete aero package.

Did an event with SpeedSF recently. Car did great all day, ran it very hard without any issues. Definitely another 1-2 seconds to be trimmed off.

Car: 2017 M4 ZCP
Track: Sonoma
Best Lap Time: 1:52.682
Tires: 275/305 NT01
Brakes: RS29, SRF
Other relevant mods: BM3, Catless DP, Intake

Solution is to stop using the Michelins at the track. I've seen even the SC2 chunk the outer shoulder a couple of times after just 2/3 of a day. Not sure why they are so soft, but I've beaten on the R888's with no camber plates and have had no shoulder problems. Same with NT01.

Thanks for putting an entry line at the top of your post like I want it. Makes it easy to copy and paste.

First time in this car, but must have lots of track time? That's really fast, almost ST3 lap times which I'm familiar with at that track. Benefit of the doubt given.

Nice setup, way beyond my basic mods.

I think you're right about the Michelins being too soft on the outside edges but I also prematurely corded the outside edges of a set of Dunlop Direzza Star Spec 2s - albeit this was in my 135i with only about 1.5 degrees of camber. Everyone seems to be getting good, even wear out of the NT01s, so I'll go with these on a set of 18 Apex wheels for next season.

And thanks for keeping this thread alive and current.

me and my brother do have good amount of seat time in the S2000. His PB with the S2k is 1:55 with RE71R's so I'm sure with right suspension mods and aero he'll be well into sub 50's for sure.
(i am nowhere near as fast as him though..)

As for the ST3, I'm assuming you are talking about NASA ST3 class cars?

We'll be going back next month again in both cars, but since M3 will have lesser tire (probably RS4 or equivalent) this time I'm curious to find out how much under 2min mark he can bring it down to. Guessing it will be around 1:57~1:58 range...

At the same time, shooting for new street tire/full interior/stock powered S2000 record next month!

2:38.87 mischiefbenz M3 (RE-71R, Power Stop Track Day, Euro MDM)

Circuit of The Americas

Car: 2017 M3 DCT & ZCP
Best lap time from the event: 2:38.87 (M Lap Timer)
Tires: Bridgestone RE-71R (255 35 19 F & 275 35 19 R)
Brakes: Power Stop Track Day on all 4 corners with fresh stock fluid
Suspension: Stock with factory alignment
Engine: Stock
DTC: Euro MDM

Was at COTA with weekend running The Austin Schnell Fest put on by the BMWCCA/PCA. It was my 4th event at COTA (7th, 8th & 9th days) & the first time I've timed myself. The event was 3 days long with 4 20 min sessions per day.

Had a great time and consistently improved my lap times each session. My best lap time was set during my last session on Sunday as there was much less traffic. My lap times during that session were also much more consistent as well. We started off with 50 cars in my run group, but I think at least half of them skipped the last session.

Definatly could benefit from camber plates allowing me to run more negative camber up front. Just not sure if I want to make that sacrifice as the car is also my daily driver. I'm only planning on doing one event a quarter.

Are dust seals something I should be getting replaced every X amount of track days?

I swap pads on my own and have about 15 track days now on this car but never look at anything else on the caliper when swapping pads.
