I don't think that's strictly true, especially up front.
F80 ZCP 265 * .30 = 79.5mm
E90 ZCP 245 *.35 = 85.75mm

So you're losing 6.25mm of sidewall
I'll be going 275/30 up front ASAP

BTW... that picture is sick

I always used to think that 19s were the ultimate size wheel for a Euro coupe/sedan but styles have changed over time and cars have become bigger. 20s look awesome on this car.

Having said that I'm rolling on 19s for the winter and I like them fine but once it warms up I'll be happy to put the 666s back on.

I have 666m wheels on my f80 but went with 19" bbs chi-r's for winter set up. I gotta say I really dig the look of the car with 19s on. I'll f I have the cash I'd pick up 19 inch fi-r's for my summer set up.

20’s look so much better in the rears. If you get a high quality forged set and use the right set of Coilovers, there isn’t compromise vs. 19’s

recently purchased an 18 ZCP...i was hard on the 666's but when i drove a zcp with the 437's it was a no brainer for me. sure they look good , but not worth the headache and decreased ride quality... plus im tired of paying for bent rims..lol.. i actually cracked a wheel on the 405 in my e92 years back...

told the dealer i would only do the deal if they could swap 437s on it, needless to say they did the deal...lol

Looks so damn good. Plus the f chassis m's are built so well you can still tear ass on canyon roads with wheels that big. Just need a decent tire. I will always run 20".

The 20" sweet spot or "OEM+" specs on the F8X are the following:

265/30
295/30

Michelin PS4S

9.5" ET20-22
11" ET40

You can tweak the above, but it's because either people don't know aka received poor guidance aka lazy or they're trying to do something funky like ghetto stance it.

Monkey see, monkey do! It also helps that ZCP models comes with 20" standard with some opting to downsize to 19"s.

Regarding ride quality, if you don't drive like Speed Racer on the streets you might want to consider switching tires. I recently switch ZCP 20" MPSS tires in 265/30/20 & 285/30/20 to Nitto all season tires 275/30/20 & 295/30/20 and the ride is definitely less harsh. The trade off is all season tires are not as sticky as performance summer tires. The upside is that the ride is less harsh and tread wear is better. I'm in a climate that does get well below freezing during the winter months and snows but I don't plan to drive on snowy days, only cold days as necessary.

For those who tracks their cars, all season tires isn't an option. They would be better off with dedicated track wheels/tires while cruising around town with all season tires if they're looking for more comfort vs sporty handling.
What car? How did winter treat you?

You're not the only one who thinks that. I have a few who replaced their 20" ZCP to 19" because their 20" 666 were too heavy and the ride was harsh.

19" below looks very meaty and sexy. That's the beauty of modding, you can make it to your own taste.
What tire specs are shown in the pic? Look like 40s?

To me it depends. I don’t track my car so my opinion is aesthetic.

In M3, it is easy to get a really good look with any 19” design. Same applies to 20”. In the M4 because the way the rear panel and/or roof line looks, 19” look small especially anything with a step lip.

Im so torn between 19'' and 20'' 19's with meaty semi-slicks look so good, but then again 20's with concave also look great. Investing in some new wheels for next summer but honestly not sure which route to take

Why not go with both .

The F8X looks stunning with a staggered 19" front and 20" rear setup
