+1 why are there BMW performance parts available at all for the full blown M cars ? I thought that the full blown M cars were meant to be the pinnacle of what BMW could do straight from the factory ! It's all M starting to seem a little bit diluted and less special to me.

I have heard that BMW Performance parts will be available 4th quarter this year for the U.S., but I hope that is incorrect. Individual colors and interior leather should be available 3-6 months after initial orders are completed for the U.S. This has typically been 6+ months after initial orders. Not sure on caliper color options are going to be available though.

Yes, 3-6 months after initial orders are completed for the U.S. I have heard the BMW Performance Parts will be available 4th quarter this year for the U.S., but I hope that is incorrect. Not sure about the brake caliper color.

BMW Performance Parts will not be installed at factory if doing Euro delivery for U.S. they are installed at the delivery process center when arriving from port.

There was an article a couple months back with quotes from a BMW employee about this (I don't have a link but google is your friend), they don't want an xDrive M3 at this time because of the weight, among other things. Chances are pretty good the F80/82 generation will not see it.
