Best Tyre Pressure ?
Hi guys I drive the New M4 F82 AW I currently am using the Michelin Super Sport 19 inch and running 2.5 bar on all four tyres.
What is the best pressure to run on all four tyres I'm trying to see what your guys thoughts are and deduce what's best I personally am happy with 2.5 but would like to know what others are using and happy with for best performance. |

Its 36.3 psi if my converter is correct! I've run between 32-34 psi all round which feels fine - recommended being 33 psi for the 19" wheel/tire combo.

33psi front and 31 psi rear cold.
Note that I am running a 275-295/35R19 PSS setup.

At what ambient temperature?
So since my FTM came on erroneously and I acquired a nice joes racing tire pressure gauge, I have been checking tire pressure more often. First, if you look inside the drivers door, it recommends for speeds less than 160km/hr to set stock tires both front and rear to 32psi.
I did that in my garage, in the morning, a week ago, and temperature inside the garage was 30C. Fast forward to today, ambient temperature in my garage this morning was 24C and my 4 tires read 31psi on my Joes racing gauge. Rule of thumb is for every 5C there is a change by 1psi. So at what ambient temp should we set the tire pressure? Wiki returned an interesting chart, kinda indicating saying a reference temp at 24C (75F)... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cold_inflation_pressure So I decided to set them to 32psi at 24C ant go from there. This is more important in extreme winter conditions where the difference between a heated garage and outside could be up to 5psi. And no I don't race, I am a mild OCD case |

Typically automakers fill their tires inside the garage before testing. "Cold" pressure is set at approximately 70F.

So example, if reference OEM pressure is 32 psi@70F, then at 80F one should inflate to 33psi, I.e. Increase/decrease by 1 psi for an increase/decrease of 10F (5 C) in ambient temp. Correct? |

Note that I have since re-adjusted my cold pressures for the 265-295/35R19 PSS. I now use 35psi cold in front and 33psi cold in the rear. I use a pressure gauge, it is more convenient when inflating the tires. Further, my car does not have TPMS.

I have the below Wheel setup..
Front: 255 / 35 R19 92 ZR(Y) Rear: 275 / 35 R19 100 ZR(Y) When I first had the car all tyres were set to 35 psi all around, I have driven that for a month to begin with. I've tried a few different psi setups so far, all my tires are Michelin so if you check their web site they suggest running: 35(Front) and 38(Rear). However My Car manual states different and shows: 34(Front) and 37(Rear) I have tried all the above and what I have found is that I had more grip and stability when the car tires were set to 35 all around. I was loosing rear wheel control more with the other settings specially when turning corners, My suggestion is to stick with 35 psi all around, works well with my tires. |
