UPDATE: Most recent, best price I can get around SoCal (I'm sure some of you may get better hook ups maybe through some connection, but this is for the average dude who doesn't know anyone...)

Looked up around 30 dealerships near me for a AW m4 and found 1
Price $75,325
Residual 59%
36months 10k miles a year
Max security deposit $7350
Drive off is 2869 (-1k for un4gettable = $1869)
Monthly is $1016 (9% cali tax already included, $750 innovation included)
MF% is .00129 (With MSD it's .0008)

These prices are pretty accurate as I confirmed with another dealership (who was actually charging me more @ $1139 (9% cali tax and innovation included) a month with $842 drive off (un4gettable included) so that dealer in the end is $900 more than my first guy.).

Hope this helps people in the SoCal area.

Picking it up today!

Thanks Will. $69,675 is before my 7,300 cap reduction for my 335i trade. The MSRP on my options is $72,475 and the invoice is $66,660 so yea you are right it's somewhere between MSRP and invoice.

It's my first lease so thought I'd see what you guys think. I will def be asking about that residual because that makes a huge difference. Any other advice for me?

That $69,675 - is that net of your cap cost reduction or before? If it's before, you are paying well above MSRP.

Money factor is right on the buy rate, and the bank fee looks pretty normal.

Actually, this looks to me about like a deal midway between MSRP and invoice, with a payment that looks a little lower than you'd expect because of the down payment. Looks about right to me, but check that residual.

oh sorry that was a typo... they did the .0004 mark up and told me its company policy that they markup all of their leases. I told them they shouldnt make people think they are getting a great deal when they really arent.

Last week I told the dealer no thank you and then today they emailed me and told me they would give me the car on my terms which are...

MSRP - 84,925
Sell Price 77,750 with 750 Innovation credit
2 MSD of $1050 each
first months payment of $1022
plus a free hotel stay and dealer cost on $1100 worth of parts department purchases which saves about $400

Im very happy with the deal.. I was just lucky to find the exact car i wanted in an area where M cars are not "hot" and most people cant afford them so the dealer needed to move the car. Im stoked i dont have to wait until February now!

Congrats on the deal. It's good to see that dealers giving fair deals. It's better than I'm getting and I have to wait until March! But that's my choice. Enjoy!

invoice based on Edmunds was 75,425...$750 of the discount was the Innovation Credit so based on the Edmunds they made a bit over 3k but they have had the car for 2 months and im sure they want to get rid of it and they probably some of the back end too.

Interesting. Invoice should be right under 79k according to the standard 7%. Best deal on the forums so far i think.

i agree interesting too..This dealerships is very small and im thinking they ordered the car thinking they could get rid of it quickly and it didnt happen so maybe they are cutting their losses. I went back and forth with them for a bit before i walked and then they came back to me. They actually asked me to refer them to others people in the SOFLA area so they could grow their business so maybe its worth it to for them..no idea and im not gonna bitch in the end! lol.

What's the general opinion on doing a lease to purchase option? I'm pretty new to leasing.

This thread should show you everything you need to know (sorry, but you will need to go through many of the pages including the silly posts where people ask if they are getting a good deal and don't provide any information and the clear fact that some of these people are struggling over an extra $25 per month - which tells me they might be buying/leasing a car they cannot afford...but I digress..)

In short, leasing provides you with a way to get out of the car at a predetermined price after a certain number of months. Normally, buying the car at the end of the lease proves to be more expensive than had you just bought it from the beginning. So lease if you only want to have the car for X months, buy if you want to keep it longer.

My advice is.. Don't put a down payment on a lease and don't pay multiple security deposits. However in the desire for the lowest monthly payment, some people do not listen to this advice. To each his/her own.

I learned this years ago after many vehicle leases and purchases.... If when you leave the dealership you feel like they really treated you right, you made new friends, and for the most part they have convinced you that your going to deal with them for future purchases, then you probably got screwed on the deal, now if on the other hand your experience didn't go so well and they are happy to see you leave, and you just didn't get that warm and fuzzy feeling with them, then you got the deal. lol, but unfortunately true.
