For me the Giulia is the first, and only, real contender to the M3. Ever. The MB is not in this category, despite what the world thinks. T

Just saw this and agree with mostly everything said about the cars. I hate the look of the Alfa though. It's just too busy front and back for my tastes. The interior (which they didn't show) looks AHHHHH-mazing but if its not user friendly like the said, thats the only nice thing I'll say about the Alfa. Performance being similar is great but if the car isn't user friendly with it's interface I'll pick the M3. Ain't nothing more annoying when the car is difficult to use.

The people who are saying it isn't worth it are those stuck with non ZCP cars. Anyone that has spent time driving both would never say the pre ZCP car is a better car. It isn't even close. Even if you toss the wheels out of the equation, the smoother power delivery, better handling, and vastly improved exhaust is worth twice the price.

Just wait till you see the M2 vs V6 Camaro 1LE that is about to come out later. It's borderline unwatchable. They need to get rid of these clowns and just get Carlos to do the proper reviews.

For daily drive purpose, i think W205 C63S is the in this competition. Because the interior and the monster V8TT, but the downside of C63 sedan is no wide body as M3 and C63 coupe do. Also the shift selector is on the steering wheel is ridiculous for a performance car.

I've seen it in person, in red and its sexy as hell, lots of great looking curves.
Yes, the front isn't great but way better than in pictures or video. Any car guy will love looking at this car. Our local dealer has 12 quad's sold with a wait/delivery time of July - not bad. |

I just can't watch these two beta males. I get embarrassed as soon as they start talking.
The Alfa, on the other hand, really is growing on me. If only they made it in coupe form, I'd be interested in it. There's no justification for 4 doors on a car where luxury is not a priority. |

because i dont like one of the main aesthetic designations that Alfa chose for this as a performance model? as i said before, history of it aside - its just a personal opinion, yours isnt validated more than mine lol. me? it gives me vibes of recent hybrid logos such as Ford's and NOT specialized performance variants that every other car in this segment shoots for (which is what this car IS competing for at 80k price range)
Ford hybrid logo : if it doesn't for you that's fine, just stating that's how I feel, on a public forum, God forbid lol |

Totally agree. That will settle it for good and the M4 CS is already coming soon! (July?)

having trouble understanding the issue people have with the tire compounds..
the QV comes stock with the Pirelli Corsa tires. they were not slapped on for the test. it is OEM. frankly I question the practicality of putting essentially R-Compounds on a street car.... that said....in normal everyday driving it is a toss-up...personal preference as the cars are very closely matched... and in the real world the only place to to have the 2 compete is the track... and I'm of the school of thought that it will basically come down to the driver... @Doc. I agree that for me the Alfa purchase was just about wanting something different after 28 years of owning M cars....and finally realizing a dream to own an Italian sports car/saloon. the key for me will hang on its reliability, durability, dealer service. I have been watching/reading the threads here about people comparing the 2 & I notice ironically, that the majority of the F80 cars are leases.... IMHO how can you offer an opinion on a car that you drive/rent for a max of 3 years for most, and every service, and issue will be covered under warranty or service?.... all of my M's have been very very good cars over the long haul, from reliability, cost to maintain was normal to me based on the fact they these are high performance cars that require routine & preventive maintenance in order to give you years of satisfaction. the only dog of the bunch was my E92 that was almost lemoned under NYS law....didn't stop me from getting an F80.... just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents as I have experienced both cars.. Regards M

That's if they make a CS version of the M3. And of course, Alfa already has that covered. They can lose weight as well and if this is supposed to be the engine in the alleged upcoming Ferrari Dino, then you are looking at 550-600 hp. And I don't think BMW is willing to try to outshoot a Ferrari sourced engine. Especially when they'd charge an arm and a leg for it.

The Alfa is very tempting. I think it looks great, sounds good, and the ride/steering/handling seems excellent.
Unfortunately, no stick=no sale for me, and the unknown quality & reliability and lack of European Delivery are also demerits. Also, it remains to be seen if it can be had for less than an M3. My future, well-equipped M3 is only 75k MSRP, and I expect to pay under 70k. The Giulia QV, who knows? |

For a DD at 1500/month I think I'd pass...rather get a 991.2 S for the same amount of money. Ouch.
