I really like the sound of the M Performance Exhaust on the Safety cars, but dear Lord the E46 M3 is still one of the most intoxicating exhaust notes I've ever heard!

I wonder if you will be able to put the Akra DP's with the M Performance exhaust? Hmmmm!!

It was the so called 'M Corso' on the Nordschleife that takes place annually just before the legendary 24h-race at the Nurburgring in Germany.
I attended as well and boy I can tell you it was absolutely great!

Maybe some of you recon my blue beast at 1:43. I have the full Akrapovic Evolution Line System and for me it's absolutely gorgeous.
I know all of these cars by person, I listened to them about 4 days on our 'M Power Tour 2014' from Munich to the Nurburgring and you can't judge the sound realistically from this video.

In person the F8X M3/M4 sound very bassy and raspy and loud, somehow even louder than the E92 M3 V8. I like it, they did a good job at the M division for an inline-six with turbos but the sound note of the V8 is unbeatable, especially with the Akra on it!

The Akrapovic on the F8X M3/M4 is very nice, clearly louder and even more raspy... and it pops a lot more. But in my opinion it sounds too metallic and it can't compete with the sound note of the Akrapovic for F1x M5/M6.
When I'm driving by in the city with my Akra-M5 all heads are turning wherever I go! One thing is clear: you can't hide with the Akra!

The sound of the M3/M4 DTM pace car is absolutely loud! It's got the Akra and as far as I know they modified it and eliminated the exhaust flaps and all mufflers.

All in all it was a great event! We did so many things there and the organization was perfect!

Next year I will be there again!!!

, good reminder of some killer 8 sounds. The inline 6 T simply can't ever top it, but M division gave it a good try, got to admit. At least it's not stock S4 silent. lol.

Downpipes are the first section of the exhaust after the manifold or header in the exhaust. The manifold or header is what channels exhaust out of the head of the engine or turbo.

The stock downpipe has restrictive catalytic converters that help complete the oxidation of the exhaust.

Downpipes or DP here normally refer to aftermarket replacements. These replacements have high-flowing less restrictive catalytic converters, or cats. In some instances downpipes may be called test pipes when they entirely eliminate the catalytic converters and just are made of an open pipe.

Catalytic converters drastically slow down exhaust gases and also muffle the sound and cut power output. Hence a test pipe will amplify sound, increase power and affect emissions. Cars with DP are likely to fail emissions tests.

The orange GTS and the blue F10 M5 Comp sounded the best imo.

Jeez that sounds like shit. Luckily, it has a lot of other things going for it. Not hating it's just a butter face in the exhaust note dept. .

Well luckily for those that do not like the F80/82, or buy cars for sound alone, there are a ton of E90/92's on the market for sale. Look I just solved all of your problems, now you can go play.

It sucks for people like me who have the money, and want a new model. For the updated look and tech etc.. but find the old model more appealing.
