Idrive 6 vs Idrive 6 lite

Hello,

I'm sorry if this topic was covered already, but I have a 2015 M3 and I'm going to be getting it coded next week. I see that I can code the idrive 6 lite. I understand this is just a skin and not the full version, but I just had a 2017 3 series loaner car with idrive 6 and really liked it. Are the graphics and functionality in the lite version the same as idrive 6? I don't want to do it if I'm going to lose functionality or the UI doesn't look exactly like idrive 6. Thank you!

iDrive 6 lite can only be coded for MY2017 HU_NBT2.

If you saw a 2017 3 series then what you saw is iDrive 5.0 not 6

No, hardware changes. Only way to do it is swap the headunit.. many threads on this
