Same uk press car Chris and Clarkson drove, set the same way high up in the air and in zero aero mode, then again I am all ok whit that Hence Shmee was on street Cruise drive

Still the low down full aero set GTS give you instant and all other Quick steering feel/ response, more agressive camber and toe then. This and that the aero then give also better and different feeling on things like steering, more keen to turn, lower down car is better as weight lowdown, well its a totalt different feel on street to drive GTS trackset.

So to me all god I cant say he did anything major wrong here, but then again Chris and Clarkson drove this same car on track in High up in the air street mode no aero, now thats stupid. Very very stupid.

I will drive the BMW M Expert Driver Training on Nurburgring very soon. Wtf I tell them M guys they need to give me 2 set of Michelin cup tire and I do the propper test for them. The average bloke(me) on track and we test the stupid street set GTS on track vs the propper lowdown tracksett GTS.

(Street set chassie on GTS is only for nurburging, not GP layout tracks)

We cover how very stupid It is to drive a street set GTS on any given GP track layout. Then we also got racelogic vbox-HD2 to cover the the poor laptime in street vs the superior in tracksetting. Now I just need to get Casey Niestat to get his ass over here to film the damn thing. I am sure its a winner.

We could call the video ...M4 GTS, the car that many did not really understand.

The difference is that Shmee decided to be an internet public figure.

What disturbs me the most about Schmee is his failure to do proper research before reporting on a vehicle which leads him to report many erroneous facts, further, he does not have any driving pedigree. Matt Farah ies the same, hence my previous reference to him. I despise this type of low quality journalism. If Schmee provided good quality and in depth reviews I could not care less for his appearance.

I do not at all disagree that low quality journalism is an issue, but I will say that Tim does not ever claim to be anything but an enthusiast. He also quite rarely does anything with BMW (I'm actually quite surprised BMW invited him to this event). Not that he couldn't benefit from doing a bit of research ahead of time, but he certainly doesn't present these videos as anything besides his opinions as an enthusiast.

I'd be more frustrated with a video like this if it had some major brand on it like Motor Trend or Car & Driver.

Yes, lucky us then that this small section GTS bimmerpost is not the main streem out in the real world then. Anyway, It might be my personal way, but only due to someone is like a public youtuber or what not, It do not force me to do the personal crap on that person. Then again Its some people on Internet that only do this every chans the get. I guess we are all different In the end.

Now If I ever see Chris Harris or Clarkson I can tell them to their face its was a stupid act to drive them GTS on track streetset. Would be fun to hear the rest of you guys tell Shmee these things to his face.

I have deep doubts, but let's say that throwing wrenches around for an hour or so absolutely transforms these cars into track monsters, as you say.

So what.

Porsche seems to be able to make their cars moderately comfortable just driving around, while also being track bandits without doing anything but turning the air con off - or even leaving it on.

Your scathing criticism of professional testers seems misplaced, inasmuch as they try to test cars in as-delivered condition, as in fact they should. If you want to criticize anyone, criticize BMW for delivering the cars in full street trim, especially if they know a track test is part (or all) of the game.

Nope. The GTS is undoubtedly a very good car, but at its price point, it falls way, way short of the iconic status achieved by previous M efforts.

As a very personal observation, I've recently seen one pull away hard from a light, and I was reminded of those bottom-feeder Japanese cars the kids drive around in with giant rear spoilers and fart tips. Not good.

Of course, I think the GT3RS also looks like a clown car, much preferring the base 991's uncluttered looks, as with the base M4.

Just one man's opinion, naturally.
