Funny how he's talking about a 155 mph speed limiter. We were pulling 165.9 km/h on the Autobahn lol

My point is I'm having difficulty believing it produces ~60+ more whp than an s65. I do not doubt it is alot faster given the UAC.
Don't forget the F8x cars now have significantly lighter brake discs and, more importantly, a single-piece carbon fiber driveshaft. I would imagine those two things equate to a rather large improvement relative to parasitic loss from crank to rear-wheels.

27% drivetrain loss for E92 m3 makes no sense! Loved the way F80 looked initially but I think F82 is looking prettier by the second... I guess I'm a coupe guy.

It is looking more and more like the E9x M3 is the ONLY BMW in the history of BMW that was NOT underrated horsepower wise coming from the factory. What a shame too, I DO NOT want that to be the lasting legacy of what was truly a masterpiece. SMH
Bravo to the new one though!!!

Great video, great review. Very interested in the best driver's car competition as well and would love to see how it compares to it's little brother the m235i. Hopefully the Porsche cayman gts and gt3 will be in it this year.

It was sooo fast that you couldn't even see it!

lol the OP just mislabeled his post. I am sure he meant to say "E92" and not "E90".

Carlos is one of my favs. He doesn't acknowledge it in the piece but I'm sure he knows.

Boom! I would not put my 700hp E92 up against my M4 other than straight line

This exactly, right down to the overly bashed exhaust sounds( which I love ).

it is 2-3%. Unless you are driving below 100km/hr with the windows up, car in Efficient dynamic mode and have your ear glued to the speaker, you will not hear this active sound. It is there so the calm driver with no stereo on can hear the motor revs slightly.

I wonder do they wait to apply the electronical 155mph limit until it gets to port at the VDC here in the US?

I really don't understand the LEVEL of difference we are seeing here on multiple back to back dynos....
This is the video version of the Motortrend dyno run thread.

On the video, it is now clear that the cars were run on a 4WD dyno with all 4 rollers running, as I previously suspected. This will significantly increases losses (tire rolling losses, hub friction, tire and wheel inertia). This is probably the most significant reason for the low numbers of this test. Further, E92 was run in 5th gear while F80 was run in 4th. The higher equivalent speed of E92 will translate to more losses too.
