Questions about break in service

Just picked up my car after the break in service, and they told me that during break in only differential fluid gets changed not engine oil. Is this true, sorry if this was asked before but I couldn’t find it on forums. They told me engine oil is every 10k.

Thanks for help!

They're wrong. I definitely had my break-in engine oil changed.

It's important to do so to get all the metal shavings and manufacturing contaminants out of the new engine.

They are wrong. Engine oil service is definitely part of the 1,200 mile service.

Read your paperwork that you received when you picked up your car. I'm sure they didn't just hand you your keys the minute you came back to the dealer; you received paperwork. Read it. I'm pretty sure there isn't a dealer daft enough to ONLY change out the rear differential fluid during the break-in service.

The first two parts tell you. The oil filter and the 6.5 quarts of oil they put in your car. You're good.
