Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

The problem is for it to actually be shipped and the time it takes to reach you. Even if it's an individual color, they have the paint codes so it's just another paint IMO. Now getting them to start the job is another deal
Just called BMW Genius, production for mine will be done on the 29th! Two weeks is pretty good for individual paint and individual stitching.

Did they say ON the 29th or BY the 29th?
When I called for mine, they said BY the 28th.
Thanks.

No problem!
I called BMW Genius today and my car also finished production today. I was honestly hoping that it would have finished earlier. It took exactly 12 days from beginning to end.
I don't know why your info is different than mine though. They said that they did not have a set date for the car to leave the factory. I guess I will keep calling daily.

At least for me December becomes so hectic I will be distracted form thinking about and looking at it.

So, I guess there is still hope. I called BMW Genius today and the car has already left the factory. He said that if everything goes according to plan, I MAY be able to have the car by the end of December since I'm on the east
coast.
Fingers super crossed!!!!

My car left the factory last Thursday but the info online still says "production begins". Please see attached pic. Did you guys experience the same thing?
Thank you.

I wouldn't follow the online progression thing on myBMW. Just call Genius to get an update of where your car is. If Genius tells you it's on a boat, then it's on a boat.

Completely normal. Mine said "production started" from the beginning of August until I picked up our car in Munich mid October, despite being completed at the end of August.

Thescout13 It's always that for ED cars, as Welt pick-up 'breaks up' the normal tracking process.

So, I just got some pretty bad news. It turns out that the car is STILL at the factory even though the production ended on 11/29!
BMW Genius was unable to tell why the car is still at the factory. I asked them if there was another number that i could call or another department that I could talk to to find out what is going on and they said no!
I know things do happen but it just amazes me that they are unable to give me a reason why the car is still sitting at the factory for such a long time now.

Any ideas why or are any of you experiencing the same problem?

Thank you.

My car was finished same time as you and Genius said it's at port waiting to be loaded on boat. They said I have surpassed average port wait time of 2 weeks and they had no info as to when it would get loaded on a boat. So OP, are they telling you it's still at factory or waiting at port? Not getting to port with 2+ weeks of production being completed sounds crazy based on all the timelines BMW sets expectations for.

I had my CA look into it yesterday and he said the car WAS at the port. I truly want to believe this info is correct. I will be following up with them tomorrow.
I placed the order on 08/31. (Dealer told me they had an allocation but I honestly don't think they had it at the time)
I so hope this car doesn't get here at the end of January or something.
Thanks.

Hello everynone!
I guess the people who said the car would arrive the 2nd week of January were kind of close to guessing it.

Car ordered on 08/31/17
Production started on 11/17/17
Production ended on 11/29/17
Car left Bremerhaven port on 01/10/18 and headed to Southampton
Car left Southhampton on 01/13 and is scheduled to arrive in Baltimore on 01/21 (per tracker, please see attached picture)

My CA told me that the car would arrive on 01/26 so I’m a little bit confused.*
I would LOVE to get my M4 by the end of this month. This has been the longest wait ever. My current 335i was also a special order and I got the car within 2.5 months after placing the order.*
Anyway, I’m soooo looking forward to getting my car. It’s my first M car!
Thank you to those who have provided me with their input.
I will be sharing pictures with you guys once I get the car!
Thanks.
