This stock M4 ZCP vs this modified B8.5 S4? Plus, a dude pointing at them

I owned and tracked a B8.5 S4 for a few years, it was a blast, next an e92 m3, also a blast, pick up a zcp m3 next week, yeah! Have already driven an F80 m3 on the track as well ... a blast.

Clearly a trick question, they would both win!

Had a B8.5 S4 before my current M4 (ZCP). Not even close. the M4 wins. Period.

They aren't even in the same class of cars! M4 obviously. Stock M4s run high 11s and low 12s already. A tune alone would whoop a S4.

A 340i/440i would be a better match for the S4.

As a former e92 m3 owner, then stage 2.5 b8.5 s4 with TCU tune as well and now currenty c63amg owner. The s4 has a very good chance against the m4 from a stop through the 1/4. The S will put down the power more efficiently it also has near instant power/torque. Rolling the m4 will pull away. Don't underestimate the supercharged 6... its very easy to make very quick and pretty fun to drive on a daily basis.

No one is underestimating a blown 6, but on the flip side, don't underestimate a turbo 6. A comparably modified M4 will smoke a B8.5 S4 not only in the 1/4 but on the track. The S4 is about 2-400lb heavier, less balanced and understeering luxury sedan vs a more track oriented lighter balanced car with more power and more torque.

Stock for stock the S4 is low 13's to high 12s. vs the M4's is mid to low 12's high 11's. Obviously the S4's AWD gives it an advantage.

Disclaimer: Former B5 A4 and B7 S4 owner. No brand bias here. My original statement still stands: The modified S4 is better matched against a modified 340i/440i.
