I drive questions

I have some questions about the I drive:

-When I play music through Bluetooth, the volume seems to be crazy low. I have to crank it all the way up to hear the music. My iPhone volume is up.

-When I play music through Bluetooth, sometimes I am not able to choose the song I want to play. It keep playing the existing song.

-How do I move the music from my iPhone to the hard drive of the car?

-For the HUD, I prefer to see the tachometer on the display. How do I save this as my default? Every time i come back to my car, it always goes back to only the original setting without tachometer.

Are you using an app like spotify for bluetooth or just playing music stored locally on the phone?

Bluetooth audio will always be a lower volume, all you can really do is tune the equalizer settings in spotify for example to get more out of it. That and turn up the bluetooth volume on the phone.

Could also be software specific, both the control and volume. I find on my car spotify via bluetooth is only slightly lower in volume than say listening to sat radio native on the idrive. Not low enough to complain about, I don't have local music on my phone to test the bluetooth controls. Controls for spotify have never failed me.

You cannot transfer music from your iphone to the car. You can only import audio to the cars hard drive via a usb stick. So you would need to get the music off your phone, onto a usb stick then import to the hd in the car.

For the HUD, I don't know - it's too damn cold in the garage for me to check LOL

I'm aware it always defaults to the speed HUD and you must press M1/M2 with the M HUD to activate it. No way to default it just like no way to make drivetrain/suspension settings at a specific mode as default... Or I could be wrong. :P

No problems with low volume with iPhone 6s and ID5. You should list your iPhone & iDrive versions. Might get more and better information.

I am on I drive 6 or latest version as it's a 2018. My phone is a I phone 7+.

Never used Spotify. Just have songs downloaded through I-tunes.

Turn your Bluetooth off and connect your phone via the lightning usb and see if you notice a volume difference or still have control issues.

You see them in the notifications widget in idrive first.

Before they make it to the car you have to enable notification on your iPhone. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your iPhone and find the paired car. Go into that and make sure notifications are enabled. By default when you first pair the phone to the car it's not enabled.

I noticed that the i-drive unit has turned off and restarted by itself a few times. Is this normal?
