Under full throttle your valves should be open whether you have the mod or not so I don't think it affects peak power/torque in that sense.

What we don't know yet is any effect it might have driving part throttle. Maybe the flaps create back pressure for quicker part throttle spooling...no idea.

I can tell you this...I drive my wife's unmodded F80 back to back pretty often and I can't tell a difference by seat of pants.

The only thing I haven't been able to substantiate yet is her computer MPG vs actual is closer than mine (despite her mileage being worse because of her in town commute). My MPG actual has been about 5-10% off of the computer reading. Could be the two cars or maybe there is something to the valves...

Thanks. On full throttle you are right but maybe in low rpm's it makes some torque loss and its affects mpg value..

I'll definitely be doing this when I get my M. I straight piped past my muffler in my G35. So, I don't give a damn about my neighbors, lol. The resonators keep the sound quiet enough though, to be honest.

I pulled the harnesses a few days ago with valves in open position.

F82 with HK sound and ASD module unplugged. DCT.

The car does drone a bit at highway speeds - but it is very low level drone if you are 85 or slower on flats. Even at 95-100 the drone is no where near as loud as a Boeing/Airbus jetliner ride.

If you're cruising faster than that I'd think exhaust noise is of no concern. All you're concentrating on is driving and looking out for the 5-0.

Cold start is definitely louder than with closed valves but not that bad. I'm sure I wake my neighbors since the weather is getting warmer and they probably have windows open. Its not like the closed valve cold start is quiet so I'm pretty sure it makes no significant difference - open or closed valves.

Do you have an exhaust?

Just the standard exhaust. I would have thought aftermarket exhaust would all delete the valves.

I think I just looped them back on their wires where they are clipped into the heat shield.

Mine is a 2016 and it's the same. I had run mine with them unplugged since I took delivery in September. I just plugged them back in because I have a JB4 now which can control them.

What about ZCP? Exhaust is slightly different I believe. Anyone done this mod on a 2016 w/ ZCP?

I did 900 km on a highway with the valves opened and an Advil was necessary
As long I know.... when the plugs are not connected, the ECU get a memory fault and reduce the boost... with unpluged valves you should use a resistor to avoid the ECU memory fault...
