I ran 265/35/19’s and 295/30/19’s and the sidewall size front to rear is noticeable and didn’t look good at all. 265/285 is the way to go. |

Here is a comparison from Tire Rack of stock Conti's on 437M's (255/35ZR19 & 275/35ZR19)
versus PS4S on "wider" (265/35ZR19 & 285/35ZR19) ...literally 0.1" wider tread width on the rear tire |

I currently have 265/35/19 and 295/30/19 MPSS that are due for replacement....
I was planning on going 265/35/19 and 295/30/19 in MP4S.... does this sound reasonable? Could I go with 305s in the rear for a bit more grip? 305/30/19?

265/35/19 front and 295/35/19 rear. The grip difference between 295/35 and 305/30 won't be noticeable.

Not sure how much more contact patch it has over the merc spec 295 35 19 or the BMW 285 35 19.

I looked at the 305/30/19 and it has significantly more contact punch but was scared about the differences in rolling diameter would mess up your traction control. How do you like it?
I'm still waiting to get mine installed. I have a track day coming up in 2 weeks too. Hoping to put it through it's paces then. |

I don't think it's wise to run 305 on 10 inch wheel like OEM 437 rear. For those wheels I would go with the 285 BMW spec. Quote:
The traction control issue was my concern as well but for whatever reason I have yet to notice it. Maybe from dig but only on stage 1 which I think is normal.

The 295/35R19(M01) PS4S is specifically designed for the E63 10" wide rear wheel, so IMO, it is an excellent fit for the 10" wide 437M rear wheel. I however agree that a 305 is too wide for a 10" wide wheel.

Well, I suffered a rear flat tire on one of my PSS with 13K miles on it. On the bright side, put MPS 4S on the rear and I can definitely feel the car is more hooked up. Great tire.
Anyone know off-hand if the BMW fix-a-flat canister is covered under maintenance?

Upgraded from the stock pss. Same size 4s. 255,275.
So far I say they handle about the same. Traction control will still come on under heavy acceleration shifting into 2nd and 3rd gear. I should have gone with a slightly wider set. These are pretty quiet though. I like that. |

That's a really meaty rear tire. Any reason why you went with 285/35/20 instead of 285/30/20? They come in both sizes. Based on your pics, those 35 profile tires barely fits in your wheel well.

That's what they had and I couldn't wait for an order (happened out of town). But, no fitment problems. Maybe it'll smooth out the ride a bit, ha ha.
