$2k for a Chinese rep via RW, I see better value in the oe hood with the unique carbon underside and resale

Hey!

Great news! I will divulge my Secret Source...

Reputable and will ship [(+-) Eu.90.00] to the U.S. @ less than 1/4 of the price
of anywhere else listed (so far) here!

(+-) Eu.740.00 - Exc. VAT/Inc. VISA Surcharge

I understand when people cite shipping (bulk) as a reason for the increased cost
but, when a business imports, it doesn't only do one item, as you and I do. They
would, most intelligently do volume, (more items bought and shipped together)
and may sometimes even get a BtoB discount!

It's not always the case, but If we can get this item here at this price, a well run
business can get it cheaper!

Now, True, there are costs associated, i.e.: overhead, which need to be considered
but, these should hover not much more above 60% ~ 80% of the cost.

Cheers!

Ah! You're right!

I wasn't aware there was a "stock Alu. Hood" on the GTS, I thought "Stock" was C.F.!?!

Ok., My bad. Please ignore.

We are planning a US made vacuum infused replica of he GTS hood. If interested PM us so we can get a head count to make sure it will be worth it for us. The hood will be also available in FRP. We can make it in pre-preg CF but I'm not sure you guys would want to know the price lol

fitment looks off on edges, sits proud, will look even worse once painted

3k for a carbon rep, or 3.9k for the genuine item via getbmwparts that comes ready for paint

you'd easily spend more than 900 bucks in labor sanding/priming/sanding that resin top layer to get it smooth and peel free enough to paint - not to mention value a used genuine hood has once it's time to part out

i applaud them for giving it a go, but go genuine or keep it civic imo

MTC (formerly Exotics Tuning) has one too. The vent on their version is a bit different ...What i like about theirs is it has an undertray "rain guard" that catches water so your engine bay stays dry when it rains or when you wash your car.

I have it on order and Im getting mine soon.... so I will post installed pics on my car. In the meantime here are some pics i found.

+1 on the OEM route. A properly fitting aftermarket hood has yet to exist.
