Title pretty much sums it up.
Dealer scratched my Nardo M4 passenger door pretty bad. Now I gotta get it painted. Super bummed. Make sure to take pictures before you ever leave your car at a dealership.

Did the dealership agree to fix it?

MisterF80M3 The service manager agreed it was a mistake on their part, but he has to talk to his boss to see if he approves the request to get it painted.. the car was only there for 2 days.
Hopefully they do the right thing and take care of it. Regardless, sucks that it happened in the first place. I was about to schedule a 2 step paint correction before this happened.

Hopefully his boss does the right thing and owns up to it. What was your car there for?

that's gonna get bondo'ed and painted. You should find your own shop and foot the dealer the bill. A bad bondo job will swell in a year or two then you have to do it all over again. That is not a scratch, it appears to be gouges.

My driver seat was coming apart. Went in there to get the leather replaced and restiched under warranty.
Going to wait and see what they say Monday.

Would anyone happen to have any recommendations for a good body shop within the LA area?

Dealership usually has a body shop that they work closely with and it's usually a high-end body shop that has high labor rates. I doubt they would half-ass a job, especially when reputable body shops have a lifetime warranty on their work.

They should fix it 100%

Could possibly get away with touch up and sanding that area

Issa.M I had the same thought. It’s going to get fixed regardless, I’m just hoping there’s not a lot of back and forth and they honor the mistake.

Dealerships also have guys set-up in tents in the back lot for quick sprays that won’t last two years. Make sure you know who is doing the work.

I’d suggest you go through insurance and choose your own body shop to do it properly. The dealer will cut corners and go the cheapest route. Hence why they are called stealerships

Would call that more than a scratch and looks like they were moving something sharp when it struck your passenger door. Good luck with getting it all sorted out and fixed properly!!

I'd demand a new bumper. Those are not scratches, they're gouges in the plastic.

That was a door, not a bumper unfortunately. I probably wouldn't ask for a new door lol.

WTF, how is the paint that deep on a metal panel?

I agree. I think Nardo is an easier color to match too. Wonder how that happened. Looks like somebody carrying a tool or something bumped into it.

This sucks.

And what bums me out the most is that they didn't own up to it. The person who did that knows they did it. Efing coward for now owning up and telling someone.

You are a better person then I am as I would have walked into the offfice of the GM of the dealership and thrown a fit. Haha!

Good luck with the repair...
