Great video, minus the language and F12 driver and his lack of skill. That F12 as others have said, the things I would do to or for that car. If I could get a TDF, there's no limit to what I would do....

Incorrect statement bud. Unless that Ferrari is in $95,000 range. You can make an M4 do that for around 10g's.
All I'm saying (hypothetically) is is rather get the F12 because I would have to do absolutely nothing to it. It already has 700+ bhp. Whereas, the M4 needs to be tweaked and done correctly to handle that amount of power/boost.

I think the longevity of the F12 motor would surpass the M4. It's just my theory. The M4 was built for 400+ bhp. Anything higher means that internals and other parts must accommodate that power.

Both beautiful cars. But when it gets into the 6-figure range, the Ferrari would be the dream to get
I guess what you meant was the Ferrari comes bad ass and the M needs money. I think you can still get +600 HP cheaper with the M. I suppose it's ultimately how much you wanna spend dude. It's really not that hard to get a twin turbo BMW motor in that range though man. Id say the 335 would be sketchy on reliability at that horsepower but the M4 would not be sketchy TBO. If it were apples to apples cost I'd take that Ferrari in a second over the M4.

Ferrari is a shit car dude. Sorry but a name like that shouldnt every 3. car burst in flames when your standing at a red light, because thats what you hearing in most of the car news. oh another burst in flames. Ferrari doesnt test their cars looks like it. TO me this is considered a shit brand. A fuckin million worth car shouldnt be burst in flames when the temperature is hot. its hilarious. BMW is a better made car

Majority of us would have the Ferrari in a heartbeat no matter how good the M4 is.

Which to me says BMW needs to end its (now rather tedious) 35 year hiatus of building supercars

Hmmm, the M1 was not really that much of a Supercar (I know, sacrilege to say, right?) many have drank the BMW Kool-Aid. It is more of a sports car. It is a rare, yet interesting foot-note of BMW history. 273 hp, when the Ferraris and Lambos of the time had well over 300 (Ferrari 512/512i 335 hp, Lamborghini Countach LP400/S 355/350 hp) and even the Porsche 930 Turbo of that era had 300 hp. 850 hp in race trim. Race in a BMW one make support series---The Pro Car M1 Championship. Didn't do so well outside of that.
And yes, I would like to have one.

And for the person who suggested that the S55 would be reliable in this state of tune (700 hp from a 3 liter I6), think that through.

Well maybe that's why they gave up. All excuses seem to be about profitability blah blah yet so many other manufacturers (many German) can do it.

If they ever did have the bottle to restart a supercar programme perhaps they could licence the carbon monocoque from McLaren, in the reciprocal way that McLaren used a BMW V12 to get themselves a very serious foothold in the early 1990s

you mean 08 430.
But I hear Ya.

Funny thing is, many of the members of Ferrarichat would be too afraid to enter their F12 in a drag race like this. It might hurt the resale value...
THIS... We had an 07' 430 Spyder.

Models don't overlap.

But yea, valid point.

If the Farrari only did 12.5 quarter mile then a stock M4 could beat it, no need for mods. Either something is wrong with the farrari or the driver screwed up!

The other side of the coin though is the Bay Area also pays much more. It's all relative.

I'm sure you pay a little premium by living here, but I don't think the gap is that high.

What these two cars have in common is lots of hp and in the same place at the same time. I bet the BMW has lots of drivability issues on city streets and can't pass an emissions check.

I don't think they spent over $300,000 on the M4

That's because even before its tuned it's already a beast. Doesn't need much tuning cause it's already crazy fast

A little? I lived in Bay Area from '98-'13... After Twitter went public, things went nuts to a different level.

The dump apartment I was renting in San Mateo that's considered "nice" in a good area - $1175 to $1650, now I checked they're paying $3850+ for that 1bd/1ba just in past 3 yrs.

I don't miss it at all. Economy is *awesome*, but it's not "good living".

These races are for fun.
I'm sure that the Ferrari driver is still happy driving it even with the "loss"... The BMW driver is also happy and proud with this result.
Win win situation for both of them 😊
