ConnectedDrive updating problem

hello,

i downloaded the new software from bmw.com/update and tried to upload to my bmw m4 but couldnt succes. i also formatted usb flash disk and tried again but again no success.

the screen shows this notification: the software which is in you usb is not compatible with this car. for more information go to www.bmw.com/update

but i downloaded the software with my VIN number.
do you know whats the problem?

1) You need to format the USB Flash disk as FAT32 not NTFS

2) dunno what format the updated software is downloaded in, but if it's a compressed file *.zip make sure you extract it and then put the extracted file to the root of your USB Stick.

3) Make sure you insert the USB Stick in the USB port under the arm rest

yes i did format as fat32.
its not zip. i think it was .bin file.
yes i used to true usb port i am sure.

weekend i will go to service to check this together with authorized person. something wrong but i didnt understand whats wrong.

Evren, I'm curious . . . are you trying to upgrade to a new version of iDrive or a new version of the Nav maps?

I think it's neither, I think he is trying to update using this: https://www.bmw.com/content/bmw/mark...e-updates.html

Enter the last 7 digits of your VIN and see if there's an update. This just updates the phone compatibility I assume not an entire iDrive update. Also for the maps, I think it's not as simple as one needs FSC codes and whatnot from the dealer

Just idrive. Not map.
tomorrow i will go to my friends bmw service and i think he can do this.

actually i can not see my spotify track list and album cover on the screen.
i have android note 8. it was ok with my previous iphone but it doesnt compitible with samsung android. the new version of idrive is supporting samsung android devices.
