Anyone have the passport IX?

Have had my 8500i for quite some time now and looking to upgrade.

The Max2 is not in production any longer... I just got the Max 360 and love it, especially in combo with Escort Live. It's a big detector though, which I've mounted to the right of the mirror, and (currently) have the smartcord control mounted above the mirror, but may move that to my ashtray area.


Max2 (out of production)
5.3" L x 3.2" W x 1.3" H

IX
5.125” L x 2.875” W x 1.25” H

Max 360
5.430" L x 3.60" W x 1.360" H

So, the IX is smaller, but not small.

Yea i am aware of the discontinuation of the MAX2. Just considering it. Thank you for the dimensions. I wanna hear from someone how the IX "new" mount sits on the glass, say to the upper part of windshield to the right of the rear view.

It seems performance wise, they are pretty close. I think the IX gets a little bit more range?

The "new mag mount" is the same as the Max 360. It's larger than the past mounts, hanging down a bit more, but is super secure and easy to snap the detector into. because its a bit bigger, you'll not be able to mount it above the right side of the mirror, but imediately beside.

I've had it since last summer and love it. Great range and the built in GPS is excellent at learning false alarms.
