Took a few rounds of edits from BimmerTech but they got it to work.

The only downside is for some reason now the 8 buttons under my nav screen won't let me program them says "Cannot be stored". Nelson has already reached out to me to schedule a Skype call with Bimmer Tech to fix. Overall, I'm thrilled with the install and OEM look and feel of everything.
Did you figure out what happened to your memory buttons? I had some other things coded recently and the buttons were wiped out and I'm unable to program them again.

It's pretty straightforward. The most time consuming parts are at the decklid. I think a shop would charge ~3 hours labor or less

Anyone know the difference in the 2016 M3/M$ for the OEM integration to not work?

Hey Nelson is Bimmertech ever going to update the software/code to fix the black and white picture issue on the OEM integration rvc's ('16 M3)or is the only alternative opt for a different Bimmertech rvc?

Last edited by clutchdj; 03-10-2016 at 10:42 PM.. Reason: That should read black and white

We're still working on the fix. It's not a software problem. It requires a new cameraa. We're working with our supplier to create a new one.

Question:

Is this issue just with the 2016s head unit or will it affect my 2015 if the dealer reflashes the ECU's? Have a working color backup cam now that's working great...wouldn't want to mess with it.

Yes just 2016 cars. If you re-flash ECU we will need to re-code your car.

Please keep us in the loop! I too am very interested. I just placed an order for a 2016. Couldn't justify the cost for the exec pack but would definitely like your back up cam.

Guys, Unfortunately we won't have a solution for our OEM integration rear view camera kit for 2016 and up models. Your only option is the MMI version.

Was sourcing a compatible camera the biggest problem?
I was also wondering if using the OEM camera solve the issue with the Black and White image.

I found out if you hold the call button on steering wheel the backup camera turns on in motion.

That is a major bummer, I was counting on a BimmerTech back up camera. It's far to late to add it to my build now as I'm waiting for a vessel.

Did everyone see this thread? Front camera installation / interface http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1257722

Maybe this will work? This user added a front camera, their website states a back up camera can be used as well.

Really? Didn't know this, do you mean the button with the phone symbol?

I know that the Bimmertech front camera can be activated 4 ways:
1. Long press Menu
2. Long press shortcut 8
3. Hover over any shortcut key when iDrive screen is off
4. Short press voice command

Yes, the one with the phone symbol. I was trying to end a call when I figured it out lol. Hold it until the camera comes up.
