Got recorded today by another driver

Was in heavy 20-30 mph traffic today in a construction zone and two younger guys in a new Lexus RC F were in the lane next to me. Nice looking car. I pulled ahead in the normal flow of traffic (not racing as I only have 200 miles on this thing and because) and then a few seconds later he pulls even. His friend in the passenger seat has his phone out recording my car and he waves.

I mean the RC F is a really nice car but interesting that he was maybe geeking out on the M3. Smiled and waved back and gave them a thumbs up.

This car is fun.

I still turn my head when an f80 or f82 appears in my rear view mirror. I'm usually thinking "HOLY SHIT"!!!!!

Definitely an impressive presence on the road and IRL. Far greater then any other M model I can think of.

The other day I saw a sakhir orange M4 with black 19" wheels (non-ZCP) and a black grill and LED adaptive headlights. I proceeded to slowly wet my pants as it approached.

Move to Los Angeles - we're about as common as Accords and Priuses... Factor in modified F3x's and forget it, you'll end up rear ending someone gawking...

I get more attention then I ever thought I would.

Sure its no Lambo or Ferrari, I get that its a step or 5 below a true exotic, but I lost count of how many times people have stopped in the middle of the road to yell something positive, or neighbors, or random people make it a focus of conversation for a few minutes to check the car out.

Just tonight I went to a friends house and as I pull up and turn car off, his neighbor is outside and walks up to my car, and says dude leave, now. I lol and say whats up, he says his son loves these things and wants one bad blah blah good thing he isn't here.. his wife came out and was checking it out for for a few minutes and asking what I do for a living...

I just said this is waaaay too much car for a 22 yr old college kid IMO, thank you, I love it and i have worked hard for this...


OP - maybe the people in the Lexus no that their car is a poseur from a performance standpoint and know the deal.

I have to say I am surprised at the amount of positive attention and gawks this thing gets. I'm not even lowered yet!

I've had this car nearly 3 years now and still get comments AT LEAST weekly, at gas stations, grocery stores, you name it.
The funniest though is guys in 4x4s or Accords or something like that who pull up next to me at a stop light and try to get me to race. And on more than one occasion a minivan...

One of the first times I took my girlfriend for a drive we had some kids in an e30 in one lane hanging out the window trying to get a picture and in the next lane over a guy in a mustang giving a thumbs up. My girlfriend was blushing and asking if it's always like this lol.

Here in DC, Maryland, Virgina, and Delaware we have this huge Facebook group "you've been spotted" with 8.5k members. As much as I hate Facebook. The car groups are only reason I go on there.

Pics and filming from random people happens a lot.

just got my M4 today and already got a thumbs up from a Mustang driver and chased down by an E46 M3 to comment on the car (I let him catch up actually)

435 got no attention.

Yep this is normal, especially in the more rural parts of the U.K., it's unusual to see anything more spicy than a 320d M sport, most people with £70k to spend go for a Range Rover TDV8 or something dreary like that.

Hardly ever see anything exotic, so a bright orange M3 definately gets necks breaking
