Question ZDA option question on speed limit info

if i do not order ZDA will i not have any speed limit info in HUD? or is ZDA for like posted speed limit changes like in work zones? with out ZDA will still get map/nav based speed limits? (MY 2018 M3).

ZDA Driving Assistance Package
5AS Active Driving Assistant
8TH Speed Limit Info
Note: Active Driving Assistant includes Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, Pedestrian Warning and City Collision Mitigation.

ZDA = speed limit info in the HUD (or on the dash with no HUD). 8TH is the actual option, and it is only available in the US by ordering that package. It actually reads speed limit signs via the camera mounted in front of the inside rearview mirror. Pretty cool technology.

Cool thing is even reduced work zone speed limits are read, even at night and if a truck is blocking the line of sight even on the left or right. Only a few times has the speed limit been incorrect, but the success rate is greater than 95%.

not sure it will pick up sign if line of sight is blocked since it's a camera

it will switch to 20 mph in all school zones regardless of the day of the week or time of day, even though that limit is only school days/when children are present

also not sure what it does when there are different speed limits for cars and trucks

and, if a road/route number is on a square white sign it may get picked up as the speed limit

On my 235i (for a few more weeks):
If the truck speed limit is on the same post as the cars' it will pick up the right one (car).

If they have 2 separate signs and the cars' speed limit is first, it will first pick it up (obviously), and the a few hundred yards down the road it will pick up the trucks' (should process the sign for text as well to ignore the lower speed limit, but it does not).

Montana has this car-first-truck-later speed limit info all over, and it is quite annoying...
