For those who are having low speed traction issues, we are very close
to finishing the testing on our "torque limited" Stage ONE and Stage
TWO
software files.

We regularly have the discussion that grip is just as much a result of
tire and surface conditions, as it is driver input and total power; but
we also understand that some people like the idea of being able to
drive flat out and let the electronics control the traction.

In either case the optional torque limited applications will be useful to
some of you which is why we've devoted the development time to
creating it!

I looked them up and see they have two locations, North Aurora and Mokena. Nice! I'll be keeping my eye on this news as well.

It's been out for months! It's called Features Only. It's stock power level with the GTS features.

It's been out for at least half a year...

Bang for the buck though would be to do their ZCP tune, very modest power bump along with all features. You have to do the same unlocking process anyway..

I for one, cannot wait for it. It's my goal to be quicker off the line, if software helps... so be it.

Does the ZCP tune exist? Anyone actually has it?

I'll be cruising in 2nd gear, or 3rd gear and give it full throttle, the car just doesn't do anything. It revs but kinda doesn't rev. Hard to describe. It's not traction control. The light doesn't flicker at all. It just doesn't want to move. Then all of a sudden it goes. Now, when it does start going, then I get traction control to kick in. It's such a weird behavior. Hard to explain. Best way to describe it is that the car just doesn't feel like it wants to go for a second or two. When traction control intervenes, the car still feels like it wants to move and it just can't till it gets grip again. Then there's other times where I give it throttle and I don't get this. I just get traction control intervening. This is normal and feels normal with this much power. It's to be expected. Hopefully that makes a little more sense. I'm certain we'll get it worked out.
Let us know how it goes. I again suggest that you do these tests in S not in D. It maybe that the delay you feel is the DCT trying to downshift, and then the car goes. There maybe a mismatch between DCT and the new software... I saw that they are working on a torque limited option. It maybe necessary on these cars. Without a doubt, between DCT, Traction control, limited traction and Stage 1 there is some weirdness going on where the car just struggles, hers, lags, etc. I am going to try TC OFF and will re-program MDM to the Euro settings, and see if that calms the car down a bit.

Yes, I have it and so does 1FastS4 I believe. I don't actively use it as I run Stage 1 but it was very useful in the winter and will be using it at the track this summer.

True that! It was my go to winter file since California decided to impersonate Seattle for a few months.

I've driven a couple factory ZCP cars as well and there's absolutely no discernible difference that I could tell. (except for the seats of course, but that's a separate topic. #want)

I have features only, but would not mind a small power bump for the winter months as well. And maybe track use. Have I done enough research I would have opted for the ZCP Power Level INSTEAD of the ZCP Features Only.

Live and learn I guess.

It's not something they advertised well, I had to dig for their reference before I asked for it. The Features Only was pretty well advertised though. Also, I may be wrong, but their 'ZCP' tune came out sometime after the Features Only tune.

Why not just call your dealer and upgrade to the ZCP Power Level or Stage 1? Additional MAPs should just be $100.

Yeah, I bought features only and stage 1 maps on day one and then two weeks ago added ZCP Power level map. Waiting for VF to send me the ZCP power level file.

But I think that they are redoing all the maps with updates, so I will have to be patient.

We just had a meeting about that this week...

We've been testing it on our own long term development car, and one
local BETA customer over the past month or so. The results have been
great so far, but only because we have a controlled environment and
the ability to make subtle adjustments as needed.

The delay in an official release is because the results will vary from
car-to-car, with various tire sizes and rubber compounds, and on
different surfaces, etc...

One one side of the coin, your right foot offers more control than most
people give credit for; & on the other side of the coin, the functionality
(when set up properly) really is quite good.

We will likely need a couple more test cars and additional independent
feedback before we decide on the next step.

Hi guys,

VF suggests to have the car hooked up to a battery charger/conditioner when updating/changing maps etc.

Ive just had a new map and was wondering what charger/conditioner people are using?

Last thing i'd want is for something to go wrong!

J

That's a standard procedure with any sort of port flashing or reprogramming
exercise in order to ensure that the battery doesn't die during the flashing
process.

That being said, the MAP changing process for the F8X/S55 is very quick
(literally, less than 2 minutes total) which means the chance of a battery
dying during this exercise is slim. If you have any doubts about your
battery power, the charger is just a good idea in general.
